So Obama couldn't pass single payer because he wouldn't have the votes from his own party, is that the point of this?
If Democrats were completely in control and could have whatever they wanted, how is the ACA the best they could have done because of GOP interference?
I don't hold Democrats blameless. I just blame Republicans more. Perhaps something better than zero cooperation would have fostered better practices and better outcomes. The Right brought more toxicity to the table.
The democrat attitude was "my way or the high way." If the democrats had included some republican ideas, they would have received some republican votes. For example, if democrats allowed insurance companies to sell policies nationally; and, included minor medical tort reform, they would have received bipartisan support.
Isn't that Cruz's slogan?
Oh, and yeah, Republicans were all about compromise. For the other guy.
