Ted Cruz is a Complex Guy

we sent them to Washington to get nothing done because the last thing that got done was ACA
Correct me if I'm wrong, but ACA was the best they could do given the unrelenting impedance from the Right. I imagine it would have been a whole lot better if the opposition just stayed in bed.

Could you give me an example where the Democrats made it their sole and express mission to impede anything and everything a Republican president put forward?
You can defend whatever party you like my friend. I know that you are beyond being convinced that both parties are equally corrupt, equally incompetent, equally inept on every single issue. You just want your chosen party to win. Both have had there chances and both have blown it. The past 16 years have been a disaster. They both have the responsibility for this mess and are equally culpable.

Anyone could be electable with e-mail gate hanging over Hillary's head, and Trump liable to say anything at any time. The socialist is starting to look like the safe alternative.
I'm sticking with my assessment that neither Cruz nor Trump are electable despite popularity among parts of the Republican electorate. This is not me speaking, this is the polls speaking. Both candidates are divisive. Both Candidates tend to repel large segments of the Republican, Democrat, and Independent electorate.

I am aware that the polls currently have Cruz tying Clinton. A prudent person would not conclude, therefore, that Cruz is unelectable. But he is, and even more so than Trump. Show me anyone that ever got elected to any high office that was as unpopular as Cruz is among his colleagues.

The polls show I may be, not 'am', wrong about Kasich. If Republicans want to have any chance in this race, they should nominate Kasich. He has the best chance of holding the party together and an even chance of beating Clinton, though he would probably lose to Sanders..

The New York Primary, where Hillary has a 12 point lead at the moment over Sanders, will very likely determine the Democratic nomination.. If Sanders defeats Clinton in her "home state", Sanders will get the nomination, assuming he wins in California, where he is expected to do well. Should Clinton get the nomination, the email "scandal" ads will have no affect on Clinton voters, who are already immunized against them. That she would be indicted for "email gate" period, let alone before the election, is no more likely than her being indicted for "Benghazi gate". It won't happen, ever! There may be a Grand Jury at some point, but there will be no indictment. This would be a a rare example of a prosecutor unable to get a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich.

The puzzling thing about this to me is that Trump could have avoided all the personal stuff and still be comfortably ahead. He could have been gracious to Jeb, who was going nowhere. He had no reason to comment on Carly's botoxed face. She was what, at 2 %? He could have destroyed Rubio on amnesty. The NE story about Cruz's affairs would have had much more impact against a backdrop of congenial relations between them. Instead it got lost in the cesspool of wife bashing.

The other side of it is all the people he went after are basically unlikeable. There was a certain entertainment value to seeing them slapped about.
You're absolutely right. He easily could have held his constituents without continually shooting himself in the foot with those pointless, idiotic, and very rude remarks. He has run a very stupid campaign.

I can understand your sentiment, but I'm not willing to risk a "smoking ruin" like Kansas (Drumpf, Cruz, Rubio, Sanders) for the emotional release of a pass play touchdown. "Three yards and a cloud of dust" is the best way to make progress these days imo.
They only real danger I see in going one direction or the other for four to eight years, is the Court. That's a very hard thing to reconstitute if eight years down the road the electorate has had it and wants to make a major sea change. I think it is a risk worth taking, nevertheless, because the present path will always be no more satisfactory than kissing your sister. And also, did I mention?, I'll likely be dead by the time the shtf. You young guys will have to carry the heads off in baskets from the guillotine .

Drumpf has, to paraphrase the quip about how to be a great writer, made himself an ugly person first, and then simply campaigned normally.
:D

Yep. Like the drunk and the end of the bar. Occasionally the random rants make sense, until they don't, and then the once adoring mob turns away in horror as they sober up themselves.
