Magna is usually very good at seeing the obvious in threads like this that have concluded as such. He must still be in bed or on a 3 day weekend to not notice what has happen in the past few days. 
Regardless, surf has lied and broken his promise regardless to which persona had taken him over and posted here. Heck, I've seen folks making threats online and get arrested with the judge laughing if their lawyer said as a defense its his "alter ego" and not the real him. 
In addition, there's been a few cases of "traders" posting false information online about specific stocks and got arrested because they were trying to profit from the false information or posting confidential information about the company prior to some key product release.
They too used the defense it was via the "alter ego" and they aren't like such in real life. Judge still didn't fall for it.
You're understanding of the law is pretty poor. You can not get arrested for simply threatening someone who is not real. You get arrested when you actually threaten a real person! There is a huge difference. So if Marketsurfer as an alias made a threat against Jimmy5353, that would never hold up in court especially if it's widely accepted we don't even know who Jimmy5353 is. If let's say it's commonly known that Jimmy5353 is Don Bright. A real person who can be found pretty easily and Surf threatened him, then there would be reasonable cause to believe that Don Bright could be in danger.
Second, in the case of stock manipulation, that is a violation of securities laws if someone spreads false rumors or tries to manipulate a stock whether under an alias or not.
None of these cases apply here. Surf is an alias. As are you. Unless wrbtrader is your legal birth name. And it's beyond absurd that you think an online persona has broken a promise and lied. The alias does not exist so he cannot lie to you. Jesus man, have you read this message board. If we were going to shut it down based on lies and false information this site would been gone in 1999.
Look, you either come willingly to this site accepting the fact it's an online message board and that comes with all the baggage that ALL online message boards have or you simply don't come here. I have read many forums in my years, some on travel, bodybuilding, science, politics, jobs, etc and the one thing they all have in common is 99% of it is bullshit. The ONLY forums I have ever encountered where you have credibility is where you do NOT allow an alias. You have to register as your real full name and that name has to be verified. That way I know EXACTLY who I'm talking to. Those types of boards have lots of civility in general and tend to be a value add. I've asked Baron to do that with ET but I think he knew he would lose 99% of the posters here who would rather "hide" behind a false identity such as wrbtrader. Either accept ET for what it is or stop complaining about it.
Yes, some moderation is good to maintain some sort of order. And I do agree that whatever this particular thread is or started as has gone seriously off topic and should be moved. However to be fair, even when his threads are moved to chit chat, the attackers follow him down there and continue where they left off. If getting lied to on a message board bothers you then I don't think you should be reading or posting on them. Because you will find very little truth or facts here, just a lot of opinions.
