RE: MCRI

Didn't you already have a position in MCRI last Thursday? If the system triggers another signal for MCRI today or tomorrow, would you be adding to your position or would you be staying put?

I sold my shares of MCRI on Tuesday. Soon after selling my shares on Tuesday, a real world mini-crises required my attention, and I simply forgot to post the results later on. Not until late this afternoon did I even notice my failure to post the results of the MCRI trade initiated last week. Because I failed to post the results in a timely fashion, I did not plan to include those results with the Journal - in order to avoid any appearance of impropriety. However, since you have enquired about the trade, I have included those results along with a notation indicating a late posting. The results are as follows:

I sold all 500 shares at the $21.80 price point. The four day trade yielded a profit of .55 per share. This translates into a gross profit of $275 USD or a gain of 2.5% on the 500 shares.

Again, I apologize for not posting the results sooner, and I appreciate your question allowing me the opportunity to clarify.

2005-06-16, Thursday - Update

This morning, I monitored one list of stocks (5 total equities): Those equities from our daily Hot List and from our Final Universe List finding themselves "In Dry Up."

Dry Up Stocks

DCAI EXM EZPW MCRI USG

Our system generated three possible trade signals from the list of five Dry Up Stocks when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume prior to 11:30 AM.

MCRI did show price improvement at time of signal generation (10:18 AM). In addition, MACD Hisotgram showed a positive return (+.0755). Also, The Stochastic fell within desired levels (98.0000). As a result I entered into a long position with 1000 shares of MCRI receiving a fill price of $22.42 USD. The particulars for MCRI are as follows:

06/16/05 10:18:32 22:44 22:42 22:44 1000

MCRI

Time: 10:18 AM
Price: $22.44
MACD: +.0755
Stoch: 98.0000

DCAI also showed price improvement at time of signal generation (10:35 AM). The MACD Histogram showed a negative return (-.0188), and The Stochastic Indicator failed to achieve desired levels (53.3331). As a result, I took no action with respect to DCAI.

EXM also showed price improvement at time of signal generation (10:53 AM). In addition, both MACD (+.0787) and The Stochastic Indicator (96.5517) fell within desired parameters. As a result, I entered into a long position with 1000 shares of EXM receiving a fill price of $16.40 USD. The particulars for EXM at time of signal generation are as follows:

2005-06-16, Thursday - Update

Although neither EXM nor MCRI had an actual volume which exceeded FRV levels by EOD, today's volume for both equities was the highest occuring over the last 5-7 days. As a result, I decided to break with convention and hold all shares of both equities at least until tomorrow.

I thought this PM was worth posting...

One thing I'm fuzzy on. Are you still using stocktables.com to find candidates for your culling process? Everyday or ?? I was looking at your EXM pick today and noticed it has weak RS. It doesn't show up in the stocktables.com list, and a recent issue of IBD showed a RS of 16. Perhaps this falls in the category of Jack's "tenured" candidates? Thanks for your time...

I have created a "Final Universe List" which I review each day. EXM came from this list. Each day I use Stocktables.com to create the daily Hotlist. I compare the Hotlist with the Final Universe List. If a stock in the Hotlist does not reside in the Final Universe List, I add it. Otherwise, my Hotlist stocks already have a place. I then scan the Final Universe List looking for Dry Up Candidates. My Final Universe list is similar to a "Tenured Stock" list. The difference is, I clean out the list once a month and remove stocks that have failed to maintain their rank at that time. Nine months ago, the Final Universe List contained 73 stocks. Today, it has 19 or 20.

Hope that helped.
