Why does Elgin Baylor still have a job?
You can of course blame Sterling, everyone else does, but it begs the following question:
Why would anyone continue to work for a man who continually "pissed away" their hard work?
Elgin, a great ball player, a nice man, is a laughing stock as a GM.
Look at the assist to turnover ration for the Lakers. Good Spurs defense? Or sloppy Laker's offense? A total of 10 assists for an entire game tells the story of a 2 man team.
Kobe takes 24 shots, and has only 1 assist. Is that selfish? Or is it a lack of trust that anyone else can score?
Lakers didn't seem focused, let's see if they get back on track at the Staples Center Friday night.

Look at how many shots Shaq attempted....He should have 60 touches and at least 30 shot attempts a game....but !!!!!

I agree, I don't count out the Lakers, and if the Spurs are smart, they won't either.
Imagine how many points Shaq could have with a real point guard like Magic or John Stockton. Even Jason Kidd would feed the Daddy.
Shaq is 50% plus from the field consistently, and now he makes his free throws, yet these jokers take wild shots and shoot less than 35% from the field. The lack of assists tells the nature of a team.
Phil must be pissed. The Lakers are playing like they did with Del Harris.
