Tony Parker: 34 minutes, 3 for 10 from the field and only 1 assist. Only 1 assist from your point guard?

Lakers 19 turnovers.

Lakers total assists 11. (What would Magic say?)

This was one ugly game, poorly officiated, and reminded me of a Knicks/Heat game during Riley's battles with Van Gundy.

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

On the brighter side, lots of physical play.

Did you see "The Little Mermaid" Robinson hit the deck when Horry bitch slapped him in his package? I guess David does have some balls after all, fragile as they may be.

Duncan nearly choked the game away in the 4th quarter with 2 horrible passes. Real MVP caliber stuff.

Lakers have zero depth right now, and I have to wonder if they are "young" enough to go 7 games with S.A.'s bench.

Look for Phil to try and pull some major head games with San Antonio A.S.A.P. to try and give L.A. a lift.

I remember reading some time ago an article at a website, perhaps ESPN, that suggested things like instead of taking foul shots the fouled player went 1 on 1 against the guy who fouled him, raising the basket height, etc, etc.

Imagine instead of the boring free throws you suddenly get to see AI go up against Marbury, or TMac vs Kobe. How many times do you actually get to see those guys go at it one on one anyway? Not too often because usually they don't guard each other.

Hoops needs a shot in the arm and a way to invigorate the game.

I must admit.....Im shocked the lakers Blew that game...and there is only one reason why....


The lakers were down by 10.....Shaq took over early in the 4thQ and on 6 consecutive trips down court he either dunked the ball, hit shots or found open players like madsen for easy dunks while he was being doubled.....The lakers pulled within 1 with about 6 to go and then the inevitable................SHaq didn't touch the ball on 8 consecutive trips down court.....shaq got called for two quick fouls and he was done ....the lakers need to use him EVERY time down court...force Duncan and Mrs. Robinson to pick up fouls, thus opening the middle for drives to the hoop....The lakers do this a lot and I don't understand it.....they were on the ropes, shaq was taking over and then everyone else starts bombing away......In the old days of 'Showtime" every third time down court Magic would slow it down and get it to Kareem to work the hook or pass out.....These lakers don;t get it sometimes.. If I was the Lakers Shaq would get 60 touches a game....I would go into himand if he passed it out I d go back in a 2nd time and again and again until he wears out the whole team....Shaw is the only one who understands this

Aw c'mon! Tell me half of the NBA games aren't boring as heck!

What's wrong with getting more one-on-one action going, some REAL face-to-face matchups with the game's biggest stars?

At the very least the season should be reduced to 50 games or so - at least make every game important. I know that's just dreaming as it's all about the Benjamins.

i hear ya. im just not a fan of changing the games drastically. i totally agree on reducing the games played though, but that will never happen.:mad:
 
If youwant to do things to improve the game its simple....

Eliminate the 3pt line.....check the stats...since they introduced it into the NBA scoring is down immensely.....think about it??? look at all the guys who ONLY shoot 3 pointers? When was the last time Horry or Fischer took a foul line ( high %) shot???? Everyone is trying to bomb away and quite frankly there are very few legitimate down town threats in the NBA right now...In the early 80's Gervin and Alex English use to lead the league in scoring by hitting 10-15 footers all night long ( world B free too :))

2) STOP CALLING FOULS !!!!!
im so tired of watching these monstrous guys get called for a tap foul on another monstrous guy....let them play!!...what would you rather see Kobe taking it to the hoed and hitting it with a little contact and maybe a hand check along the way ....or watching him YAWN shoot freebies??? Karl malone lived at the line due to simple positioning fouls...LET THEM PLAY!!
