Senseless killing in las vegas. What lessons to draw?

Laws are broken Day in an Day out. You are the one that is missing the essential part. Murder is against the law and it happens. I am not against banning or not banning. I am against people saying that that is the solution in and of itself. There is more than that...trafficking large quantities Of cocaine is banned in the USA and it still flows like a river into our country...the demand is there. The demand for inner city guns is there and it's the biggest portion of the murders that happen each year...lower that demand and then you might be heading in the right direction. Just sayiing hey let's ban guns won't quench the demand for guns in the hood...why ? Because they be slinging papa. And that's a lot of money...so they will get guns just like they get coke illegally.

so like i said before your answer is: free supply

everybody can buy as much guns as they wish, buy cocaine, don't need to stop for traffic lights, don't have to pay taxes anymore, even raping your neighbor's wife can be done.
everybody should be free to do as they wish, and we will have a better world?

the fact that the laws don't work is because they are no applied effectively. the fact that there are laws is because without laws situation would be worse. that's the ultimate proof that bans are better then doing nothing.but it is not a miracle solution.

a good but extreme example is the war against opium in china long time ago. opium was a huge problem in china till they started to execute all users they caught. repression works very effectively. watch North Korea or Russia. all dictators use that method.

in economy there is demand and supply. cut the supply and the demand will get in trouble. some while find a way out but the majority will have nothing anymore.

The US is a rich country that should have one of the lowest crime rates on the planet given the resources for the people and the money spent on police and number of people in jail already.

Adjust for demographics and we do have a very low crime rate. Civilized countries like Switzerland and Japan have very low minority populations and are not accepting more. They certainly do not have open borders and traitorous politicians demanding amnesties for illegal aliens.

you miss the essential part: force people to obey the law.
making laws is very easy. apply them is more difficult.

I lived in a police state. It was very safe. That seems to be what every country in the west is heading for. We're going to need a lot of policemen though. And we'll have to let go of outdated notions of Constitutional rights and personal freedoms.

You can build walls around everything in your country, like Zuckerberg's estate. Or you can build a wall around your country. Those are the options.

It does amaze me the cost some are willing to pay to get all this immigration by people who have zero in the way of skills or desire to assimilate into our culture.

Fox News host says the shooter may have targeted Christians.

Fox News: Las Vegas gunman may have targeted Christians

A Fox News host thinks she might have figured out the motive behind the Las Vegas shooting: Atheism.

Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt told viewers that gunman Stephen Paddock may have “had a problem” with the faith of God-loving country music fans and used that as a deciding factor for the location for his rampage, which killed 58 innocents and injured hundreds of others.

“His brother said he didn’t believe in God, or didn’t have a god or didn’t have faith in his life, so maybe – this is all speculation—but that possible could be the reason,” she said. “He knows country musicians or country music fans are normally pro-God and go to church on Sundays. Maybe he has a problem with that, or had a problem with that.”

Her theory was followed by five seconds of silence by co-hosts Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy. Earhardt broke the quiet with, “OK. You all don’t want to weigh in on that. All right, stay silent.”

Of course she would, it's fox.

I don't think her comment was crazy at all. If this guy was an ISIS supporter, it wasn't like he was going to shoot up a mosque. Maybe the country music event just happened to be wrong place, wrong time, or maybe it attracted his attention because of who would be attending.

Hairdresser said Paddock told her he was sending his girlfriend to the Philippines and that he would be alone for a while. This was roughly 2 months before the shooting.

Say hello to ISIS err-body!

I wonder if foreigners understand just how annoying it is to have them telling us how to run our country? If the US is so horrible, why does the rest of the world so want to move here? I certainly would take our problems over those facing Europe. We may be violent and half crazy, but we don't live like fucking livestock. We are free and intend to stay that way. Guns are deeply embedded in our country's DNA, kind of like wine in france. We're not about to surrender them up and any politician outside Hillaryland who thinks differently will soon be looking for an honest job.

first: nobody tells how the US should be run. it is rather the opposite: the US (Trump) who wants to tell the rest of the world how they should be run.
second: it is not because you think that everybody wants to live in the US that it is true. i know quite a lot of people(including myself) who never would want to live there. especially people making money and wanting to avoid the worldwide taxation drift of the IRS. the American Dream from a few decades ago does not exist anymore for most foreigners.
third: you are happy over there and we are happy over here, so what is the problem? and the risk of getting killed by islamic terrorist in Europe is many times smaller than the risk to get shot in the US.
