Senseless killing in las vegas. What lessons to draw?

In what world do you live? Do you think that by banning guns, all of a sudden all the guns in the world will simply disappear? You think that smugglers won't bring them in? As I said in an earlier post, here in Brazil guns are banned and the ban was made A LONG time ago... Still, people die from firearms here in a daily basis, despite the ban.

My suggestion is to let everybody live their own lives in the way they wish, and as long as they don't try to force their own opinions on others and live in the REAL world, which has it's own inherent problems that are not solved by "dream solutions" that don't consider logic and facts.;)

The only thing that would happen is gun prices would soar.

Someone pointed out the Japanese do not have much of a gun/murder problem and why is this ? It is because of a violent history with a martial class system where the masses were violently repressed even for minor things. The USA has never been like this......yet.

No. Guns are not easily obtained in Japan, unlike here.

Japan used to have a lot of gun crime, then they cracked down on guns and now gun crime is almost nonexistent.

Again, you have to factor more than just "Ban or No Ban". As was pointed above Brazil has tough gun laws and they are the murder capital of the world.

How do you explain all the other countries in the world that have banned guns and despite that the number of deaths by firearms increased and not decreased?

I know you mean well... But again, this is simple logic... You must not act on intentions( no matter how good they are) without considering the real effects of them.

Nobody says that guns are not used to kill people. The real question is: if you have examples of countries that have banned guns and the homicides decreased and other various examples of countries that have done the same thing with the opposite effect, logic says that gun control is not the cause of the descrease of homicides in the countries that banned guns.

And actually, we have many more examples of countries that have banned guns and still have much bigger gun violence than the U.S(Every country in Latin America, for example).

So if one is concerned with solving the problem, one should stop wasting time and effort trying to solve the right problem with the wrong solution. One should use that time and effort to really see what is the factor that actually provides that result.

I'm not sure about which countries you're referring to when you claim that countries that have banned guns have more gun ciolwnce. Can you provide an example?

If you're going to compare America to a second world country like Venezuela then there really is no point in continuing the conversation.

In Japan they made guns difficult to get and gun violence plummeted to almost none.

The establishment and globalists are walking a thin line here. They would like nothing better than to ban and confiscate our firearms. They fear however that such an effort might be met with physical resistance. Guns have such a central role in the American psyche that one can never assume totally logical reactions when they are threatened. This is the burden they must shoulder in ruling over such a backwards population of subjects. Luckily for them, the younger generation seems so totally indoctrinated that they will be eager to give up most of their freedoms.

Why do anyone need a gun anyway?
Giving everyone the right to own a gun is crazy stupid because checking a person's criminal back ground is easy but how will you check mental health? Even though you check mental health and someone looks okay, you can not guarantee that the same purpose will not turn to lunatic.

Guns should be banned, period...

I already did... if you want to, you can read my posts in this thread.:)

Right back at ya, if you're going to argue that freedom concepts apply only to the countries and places YOU think deserve them. People who defended slavery also thought this way when discussing "freedom for different classes and/or races".;)

I'm not able to follow what you're saying. If you're comparing impoverished countries that do not have the resources to keep the public safe to a country that does that's disingenuous.
