I've pretty much seen every city in this country... and I love the beach.... but for quality of life, health, and a super-cool vibe without a lot of congestion.... there is only one place I would live, will live....

Lake Tahoe is infested with Bay Area Yuppsters, posers and whatever else...way to crowded, it had game back in the 70's and 80's.. Jackson Hole has a way better vibe and the snow is better.

There are lots of beautiful places in the Rockies. Jackson is overpriced because Wyoming is a (state) tax haven, like Florida.

I love to visit California but the tax situation there is enough to make me feel super comfortable right here in no-state-income-tax Florida. But if money was no object, I'd probably pack my bags for La Jolla, CA and never look back.

Since money is not going to be an object why not Carmel-by-the Sea?

Fog, more fog and rain in the winter but it's a nice place especially if you like to golf.
