Mission Beach and Pacific Beach are kind of cheap, dirty, rundown
To each his own. I like the energy, but maybe you're cut from finer cloth than I am. I like below-14 St NYC better than uptown...

Good question and I'll tell you why. My wife and I decided a while back that although we like to party with the best of them, we don't necessarily want to live where all the partying and crazy energy is happening. We recently stayed at the Pacific Terrace Hotel in Pacific Beach, and although it was a fun time right on the boardwalk, I can't say I'd want to live right in the middle of that scene all the time.
It's the same as when we go down to Miami and hang out: We will gladly visit the hotels with all the crazy DJ's and parties happening, but we would never stay the night in those locations. We much prefer to stay in the quieter part of town and visit the crazy locations when we are in the mood.
That could be true. I actually like things like a yard for my dog and a pool for the kids.Sounds like your San Diego location is more Rancho Santa Fe than La Jolla.

Have you visited Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Santa Monica, Malibu.....That could be true. I actually like things like a yard for my dog and a pool for the kids.![]()
more Rancho Santa Fe than La Jolla. Personally if was going to live in SoCal it would be either Manhattan or Hermosa Beach.
Have you visited Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Santa Monica, Malibu.....
Baron stated if money was no object...PB and MB pssss please!Gee, that's insightful -- all the most expensive zipcodes in SoCal. Of course they're good places to live -- that's why they're $$$$... Maybe you have some undiscovered gems to share instead?

Yeah, I've been to most of those except Laguna Beach. That one is next on my bucket list for sure.Have you visited Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Santa Monica, Malibu.....
If you cannot afford those, try Carlsbad, the best kept secret in SoCal, half the price of those mentioned and still a very nice beach town.Gee, that's insightful -- all the most expensive zipcodes in SoCal.
