Well Hello Friends!:D I'm glad to see this thread is thriving. Jesus is still alive! He still heals the blind, deaf, dumb and people with all diseases--including AIDS! His power lives on even unto the end of the world! It's so exciting to see the spirit of God moving all over the world, even into Africa where those people have been in bondage from witchcraft. God can break those chains if you allow him to come into your heart. We are in the final hour of the world as the signs are all around. Prepare yourselves, Jesus will come as a thief in the night.

Thunderbolt can not be for real. I think we have all been taken in by his rantings. It all has to be a very long running joke. No one could possibly take what he says seriously. Not even Thunderbolt himself. He must be just toying with us. Only thing that makes sense at all.

At this point I have to admit to being had. Thunderbolt can only possibly be a jester. Or certifiably insane. Either way, not to be taken seriously.

The 'Many-Worlds' Interpretation of Quantum Physics

First, a disclaimer for those new to the subject: Niels Bohr, the founder of modern quantum theory said, "Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it". And he didn't know about the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI). The quantum mechanics (QM) presented here is quite mainstream, even though it still seems crazy to physicists, who have no choice but to accept it. The major assumption I have made is to adopt Everett's (1957) MWI, which is just one of half a dozen competing interpretations of QM. According to various polls, MWI and the original 1927 'Copenhagen Interpretation' now have a similar share of the votes among physicists, but many of the 'big names' (Hawking, Feynman, Deutsch, Weinberg) are said to (Price, 1995) have subscribed to the MWI.

The weirdness of quantum physics can be seen in the famous parallel-slit experiment. This shows that individual photons seem to split into two particles which can nevertheless interfere with each other as if they were waves. The 'Copenhagen Interpretation' of the phenomena and the equations which describe them, agreed at the 1927 Solvay conference, essentially says that the 'wave packet' somehow associated with a particle 'collapses' when it is observed - this necessitates a relationship between the observer's consciousness and the particle. The MWI, on the other hand, holds that the equations used to predict quantum mechanical events continue to hold after observation - it is just that all things happen simultaneously, but due to 'decoherence' we do not actually see, for example, a radioactive source both decay and not decay. For an explanation of how this implies parallel universes, see Vaidman (1996).

There is one way of proving that the MWI is true and the Copenhagen and other interpretations are wrong. Unfortunately, the experimenter can only prove it to himself, and never persuade anyone else of its validity.

Arguing from quantum theory plus a bit of arithmetic, Bell was able to show that any model of reality whatsoever--whether ordinary or contextual--must be non-local. Bell's theorem has since been proved entirely in terms of quantum facts, no reference to quantum theory is necessary. In its most up-to-date version Bell's theorem reads: The quantum facts plus a bit of arithmetic require that reality be non-local. In a local reality, influences cannot travel faster than light. Bell's theorem says that in any reality of this sort, information does not get around fast enough to explain the quantum facts: reality must be non-local.

Mr. Bell's theories prove both mathematically and through quantum experiments that reality is indeed non-local. This has far-reaching implications for the philosophy of science, religion and life itself -- including the source of consciousness as it applies to quantum states within the universe and mind.
