I completely agree with your comments. My remark was actually just an observation of mine that most people don't have any interaction with the criminal justice system regardless of their political persuasion. Consequently, they aren't motivated to do much about problems within the system even when they hear about them on the news. Whereas, on the other hand, those that get caught up in the system are often people of meager financial means and little access to good legal representation. These folks are relatively powerless to bring about justice system reforms. Their only avenue is public protest, and we have seem how that easily becomes co-opted by criminal elements. I believe that is why we don't see the obvious defects in the justice system being corrected, i.e., the ones who have the money and influence to bring about reform are not very interested in doing it because they are aren't likely to have any dealings with the criminal justice system. It's pretty obvious to all of us that when you have cops and courts supported by fines and confiscated assets, you have a horrible conflict of interest on your hands. A friend recently was ticketed for a burned out license plate bulb. $125!!!!!piezoe, I wanted to address the issue of police brutality, etc. The idea that conservatives have no interest in this is wrong. We see the biggest threat to individual liberty coming from government, specifically out of control prosecutors and avaricious or violent police. You may recall our late brother Lucrum had a lengthy thread on this issue.
There is clearly a split in conservative/republican ranks. Many, the Hannity's et al, go weak in the knees at the sight of a badge or uniform and will defend the police no matter what. Others are appalled by the police abuses, ranging from violence to asset forfeitures. I fully understand that the race hustlers are out to exploit every situation, but it does seem to me that police should be able to arrest an unarmed man without killing him. There are far too many instances of disturbed people getting shot when patience and common sense might have resulted in a better outcome.
I do support aggressive policing and the broken window school of going after minor quality of life offenses. One need only compare th NYC of the 1970's and the post-Guiliana NYC to see what a difference it makes.
The criminal justice system is a 1 Trillion dollar industry. Lawyers, politicians, judges, prison corporations, jail guards, police, equipment manufacturers. Simplifying laws puts all these schelps out of work. You think these overpaid bureaucrats want to petition themselves out of a job to lighten the legal burden on all of us???! FUCK NO.
It's the same thing with the vast industry built around tax compliance (>700 Billion dollars a year). Why simplify the 77,000 page tax code when 3% of the economy generates its living from assisting compliance with that code?!?!? Why destroy their own livelihood?!?!
Christ hated the Pharisees - legalistic, stonehearted bureaucrats that bury people in the LAW. That's exactly what our system has become. It's called regulating industries into existence (at the expense of the taxpayer) so the upper caste is guaranteed work. This whole system is built and supported by stupid old fucks. No different then creating a bunch of tolls on the road...every 100 yards there's another toll down the road for another 'gatekeeper' to tax us.... When I see Lindsey Graham, I see the system. John McCain, another stupid old fuck. Hillary and Obama, same shit. The SYSTEM has a life of its own. Too much money at the trough for the status quo and any other Fortune 500 that can buy a new spot at that trough. The system has to change, and you stupid old fucks along with it, or we're going down like the Titantic.
Christ did not hate anyone if you ever read the bible even once. In fact he preached loving thy enemies. While I agree with you in most part I am of the steadfast conviction that responding in kind will never solve any problems. That is the precise reason Greece is still in the Eurozone and has not been kicked out despite their years of cheating and stealing from everyone around them. The price paid to support minorities that live under the poverty line is not a cost any country is unable to bear. The real black hole is the system you described that swallows up billions to protect middle men that are actually entirely useless and unproductive to society.

Seriously? They were pretty much were the creators of the new Libertarianism. You know, the kind for corporations. The kind that says safety and enviro regulations are bad, and science should be denied when it hurts profits.
Christ did hate, indict and rebuke the Pharisees and other zealous practitioners of the law, including the money changers. The notion that Christ was some lap dog and there is no hell (because God loves us too much) is wishful thinking. While I agree with some of the rest, removing accountability from the equation - either with North American blacks (the eternal "victims"), on the national level (Greece), or the individual - is a sure fire way to destruction and death. Without personal responsibility nothing gets done or fixed. You're completely wrong on that. It's called tough love. Greece can blow up, just like it has a million times before, along with all the other countries that leverage themselves to the hilt. This has been done a million times before, because people are stupid and don't take accountability for their actions....
Btw, Greece has been carried along by Germany and France because it's their banks who stand to lose tens of billions should Greece exit or be forced to exit the EURO. Further, the EU is Germanys political baby - a stealth takeover of Europe by Franco-Germany through a fiscal union and political union. Kicking out the periphery lessens their empire, which together, is why Greece has been doted on for so long. Don't kid yourself....the Germans 'love' Greece....LOL Ya, as a foot stool...

...it does certainly not change the fact that you seem to have some issues with me: you watch my post count and follow me around without ever adding a single argument or point that might have originated from your own thought process. Not one. The whole 100 pages of your retarded Greek thread is full of your copy/pasted news clippings. Neither have you added value here. Do whatever you like but please do me a favor and stop trolling me.
