according to your logical all social welfare states should be morally bankrupt, financially bankrupt and erupting with violence. Clearly not the case in any nation in Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, and other countries.
Oh please, fuck off!!! Nobody in the US is down because others are successful, nor does anybody claim that to be the case. A few people are down because they are lazy and other few people are down because they are sick or unable to work. The huge rest of the lower class majority wants to work and earn an honest living. Nobody is preaching freebies for the masses.
Please answer the following:
* Does a public primary and secondary education US system cost the same as a private one?
* Does the public educational system offer the same kind of education and does it prepare equally well for the next stage in life, be it college or a job?
* Does Harvard and most other private academic institutions truly choose applicants based on merit or do they choose to a large degree based on heritage and pedigree and who their future donors will be?
* Do companies and people truly hire job applicants based on merit and not based on some sort of nepotism? Do Blacks and Hispanics truly get the same chance at landing a job at Goldman even if they and their white competing applicants both attended Harvard or U.Penn?
* Does the state (federal or state) provide at least the most basic infrastructure? Is the bus and train transportation system in most American cities developed enough so that single mothers or anyone for that matter can commute between home and work within reasonable time frames if they cannot afford a car?
* Does the government or state or city provide sufficient APPLICABLE and USEFUL opportunities for furthering adult education? Are there opportunities for someone who was born into a poor family and neighborhood (truly not by choice, obviously) to have the same chances to reach the age of 18 or has the city or state given up on certain "problem districts" and left people at their own peril?
If you answered no to any of the above questions then clearly you live in a society that does not afford its citizens equal opportunities.
Now, let's assume you are an arch conservative Republican and give a rat's ass about the poor and underprivileged. Let'a assume you admit there are no equal opportunities and you are totally ok with it. Then can I ask you: Where the hell are all the many billions allocated to which disappear from the huge taxation coffers? Is it really not about time to ask the question why you still need to pay global policeman and firefighter at a time you really should focus inwardly? Even if you create a society of left and right, black and white, poor and rich according to your Republican ideology, should you not at least do SOMETHING rather than only sit there and complain about democratic philosophies? After all your party is in power in both, the Senate and House...you have the say more or less but nothing really is coming out of it.
Unless something significantly improves in terms of Republicans delivering I am pretty sure that Hillary Clinton is almost certainly gonna be the next DEMOCRATIC president. So far the Rep. ideology was to dig up as much dirt as they can about Dem., how about starting to actually deliver something on their own?
I would argue this sort of violence and anarchy stem from people being told their entire lives that they are owed a living from other people's taxes and that it is perfectly legitimate to live that way for generation after generation. So of course if that is your mentality, pretty soon you being to resent not being taken care of better. When you are told that the reason you are down is because other people are successful, it is easy to resent them and see nothing wrong with taking your "fair" share. This kind of demagoguery has now become a core principle of the democrat party, and of course obama has made fomentintg class and racial strife the principal legacy of his awful tenure in office.
