Poll: Majority of Americans Oppose the Tea party

Quote from phenomena:

It's not "claptrap" it's absolute historical fact, and I am not a conservative. There is very little which is "conservative" about my platform. *I* am the liberal here, not you. The term "liberal" described people with my views hundreds of years before you guys hijacked it. It had been used to describe us for centuries before you stole it.

From Adam Smith, Frederic Bastiat, Jean-Baptiste Say, David Hume, and Andrew Jackson all the way to Hayek, Von Mises, and Milton Friedman. We were called liberals before you guys even existed.

Try reading the book first.
I never once heard anyone refer to Friedman as liberal.
From Wikipedia:

The political terms of "modern", "progressive" or "new" Liberalism began to appear in the mid to late 1880s and became increasingly common to denote the recent tendency in the Liberal Party to favour an increased role for the state as more important than the classical liberal stress on self-help and freedom of choice.[2]

By the early 20th century the Liberals stance began to shift towards "New Liberalism", what would today be called social liberalism: a belief in personal liberty with a support for government intervention to provide minimum levels of welfare.[3] This shift was best exemplified by the Liberal government of Herbert Henry Asquith and his Chancellor David Lloyd George, whose Liberal reforms in the early 1900s created a basic welfare state.[4]

The Liberal Party was an early adopter of Keynesian economics: David Lloyd George adopted a Keynesian programme at the 1929 general election entitled We Can Conquer Unemployment!, although by this stage the Liberals had declined to third-party status. The Liberals now (as expressed in the Liberal Yellow Book) regarded opposition to state intervention as being a characteristic of right-wing extremists.[5]

Your definition hasn't been up to date since more than one hundred years ago and beyond. Note the last line. As far as I'm concerned, regardless of what you style yourself as, it's all you are. It's what liberals have thought of you guys for longer than either of us have been alive.

Besides friedman himself you mean??? LOL!!! He's said it on more than one occasion in interviews although he ads "a liberal in the true, original sense" etc.

No matter how much you want to whine, cry, and stomp your feet, the record of history is crystal clear. WE were always called "liberals", you guys stole the name in the last few decades.

Even in present day europe "liberal" still bears my(which is the *original*) context the majority of the time. In europe they call you guys what you actually are, SOCIALISTS! If you weren't so ignorant and actually traveled/lived in different places around the world, you'd know that.

You guys are such frauds you can't even come up with your own name. You guys have to lie about what you actually are!

Exactly, only in America are leftists called liberals. They should call themselves just leftists or socialists.
SO in America true liberals in the classical sense are left with the less familiar "libertarian" name.
But socialists are trying to steal that name too!! watch that disgusting left-wing fraud Noam Chomsky calling himself a "libertarian socialist".

And in Europe you guys are called neo-nazi fascists, I am sure you would know that given your extensive travelling.

Here is an e.g. of your fellow neo-nazi arguing for the Tea Party.

Quote from HelloDollar:

A quarter of the U.S. is Mud People. Another 8% are either Jews or fags. Throw in 2% Muslims and another 5% Asian. That means only 55% of America is straight, non-Jewish whites. Out of that remaining 55% I'd say a third or so are seedy, leftist whites. So that means, under 40% of America is actually worth shit. If Tea Party members are a third of the population, that means 80% of American's who aren't Ignorant Minorities support the movement.

Wrong, in Europe *I* am called a Liberal. I am sure you wouldn't know that given your lack of worldly experience.

Good to know liberal, dont ignore the neo-nazi though, you can call in any of your European contacts and confirm how they talk.

LOL!! If you are for small government and individual freedom then you are a "neonazi"? ROFL- Marxist bullshit at it's greatest...

You know, at least the socialists in Europe have the balls to call themselves what the really are...

Geez, I was talking about the quote from your fellow tea partier HelloDollar (which you love to ignore), who the fuck was talking about government and individuals. You just love misquoting and changing subjects dont you.

And being a neo-nazi isn't mutually exclusive to being a libertarian, infact they overwhelmingly donate to it.

Ahh, so you have verified that HelloDollar is a tea party member? Interesting... So then I'm sure you wont mind sharing the verification...

Trying to distance yourself from him eh? :D

So he is defending the tea party because he is not a tea partier?

Quote from HelloDollar:

Not only is there no recorded evidence of racial epithets being hurled at Congressional Black Caucus members as they left the Capital-the subjects themselves are now backtracking and saying they were verbally assaulted a couple of blocks away.

The Lewis incident was via a voice message and not at a public event.

Last night Sean Hannity filmed his Fox News program at a rally outside Orlando, Florida. The crowd was virtually-I'd go so far as to say, exclusively-white. Who were the 3 keynote speakers? Marco Rubio, a 2nd generation Cuban from Miami, Allan West an African-American from Ft. Lauderdale and Pam Bondi, a sweet looking blond from Tampa. All three are Republican candidates, favored to win their respective elections. The crowd wasn't at the event to see Hannity-they were there to see Rubio-who has become a hero to Tea Party members throughout Florida. This despite the fact that he's running in a Republican Senate primary against Charlie Crist, a popular anglo Governor. The Tea Party darling isn't the good looking white guy but a dark Latino named Marco. A You Tube video of Allen West has been seen 2.1 million times.
