Paradise Lost

If being wealthy hugely undermines your chances of entering Gods Kingdom of Heaven, why do Republicans, who are overwhelmingly one denomination of the 30000 of Christianity, covet money so much?

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Those words are recorded in several scriptures from the Bible and serve in an analogy from Jesus that wealth and power do not grant an individual access to “the kingdom of Heaven.” Instead, it is humility and helping those less fortunate (among other things) that might allow someone to ascend after death.

No, thats not it. The point of what Jesus was saying is that it's humanly impossible for anyone to enter the kingdom of God by their own means, no matter how much wealth they had at their disposal or how humble and helping they are to others. It's obvious by the next line in that verse when his disciples ask "Who then can be saved?" to which the answer was "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God"

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It's a free gift that anyone can enter the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ.

Life Hack# 42:
Beware those bearing free gifts.

True gifts come with no strings attached.

What strings are attached? I mean, I guess if you think the actual act of "accepting" a gift is an attached string, I probably can't argue with that logic, but then by that definition there is no such thing as a true gift.

I completely have to agree with you on this. I find Bill Maher genius and agree with many of his points, and made, but his constant bickering as atheist and making jokes about anyone who believes in a religious faith is incredibly annoying and seems to point to some insecurities he seems to have. More confusingly, he seems to take issue particularly with Christians rather than Buddhists or Muslims, or...

"When did atheists become so evangelical? I mean, if you don't believe something to be true, wouldn't you just ignore it? That's certainly what I do. Whether it's leprechauns or a congressional debt reduction plan - if I'm convinced it's fiction, I simply put it out of my mind. Not the atheists. They are obsessed with faith and religious practice. Their identities and their works are one big reaction to that which they hate. No longer content to simply dismiss God and those who follow in Him, the New Atheists have created a cult of unbelief." -- Laura Ingraham

Having to be accepting of a gift, is no free or true gift.
Being offered a gift for something done in return, is no free or true gift.
Being required to believe something in order to receive a gift, is no free or true gift. You get my drift.

Bill can be rather annoying with his everyone who isn't an atheist is an idiot attitude, but I have heard him take Muslims to task many times, which is refreshing break from the usual leftist hypocrisy on the issue.

by Grace (free unmerited gift of God) the Creator offers salvation.

if you wish to know you have salvation you should accept the Grace while your alive.

if you wait... I don't know...
