Only 16% of Californians Can Afford to Buy a Home

And given the mass exodus from CA over the past few years, who in their right mind would want to buy a home in CA anyway?

The taxes are the some of the highest in the country. Crime isn't prosecuted in many areas. Local and state gov'ts are forcing you to outfit the home with horribly inefficient green products to enrich their friends at your expense. Bad weather in CA isn't just bad... it's biblical bad... fires, earthquakes, monsoons, mudslides...

California homeownership hits 11-year high but still nation’s 3rd lowest

Topline

California’s 55.3% average homeownership rate in 2022 was the state’s best since 2011 – but only Washington, D.C., at 42% and New York at 54% were lower.

The highest ownership rates in 2022 were found in West Virginia at 79%, then Wyoming at 75%, Minnesota at 75%, Maine at 75% and Delaware at 75%.

And what of California’s economic rivals? Texas was No. 45 at 64%, while Florida was No. 31 at 67%.

........

Gee Texas better watch out Cali could be gaining on Dem CowGirls. :p

LOL CA population is well over 40 mil, a lot more folks over a lot more years have to pull up stakes for it to be much of a concern I'd say.

And guess what might happen if they do, property values might drop. Isn't that how "free" markets work?

Nope, AZ, Idaho and Nevada folks are screaming they can’t buy a house now. I had a friend move to Kentucky because Texas was too expensive.

Trailer park Ted's friends also live in the trailer park. Hence, your empirical evidence of 1(!) has zero statistical validity.

That is old news. More recently, while lower income people are leaving, wealthy people are moving TO both California and New York. As of August 1st, 2023, California now has more Ultra-Rich ($50 million+ income per year) than it has ever had. Same for New York.

The number of millionaires in the Golden State has surged at a time lower-income residents are leaving.

The decade long hatched plan comes slowly to fruition, to build a walled and segregated community for the ultra rich to play in. That is how the original founders had it all envisioned. Winner takes all society. No room for losers. They already installed an ultra left wing government that implements all the crazy ideas so that gay and Trans actors and billionaires don't have to feel left out anymore. Just make sure the poor gays with aids and STDs leave the state first before the games can begin.

The poor are ferried to Kentucky and Missouri I guess?

California is supposed to have some of the best weather in the country, lots of sunshine, same warm temperature throughout the whole year with no hurricanes or tornadoes. Can't believe the state is going to the dogs. The most ridiculous thing is its laws permitting squatting. How can you permit somebody to just invade people's private homes just because there is nobody in them? That's breaking and entering to the highest degree and yet it's permitted by law!
