On race relations in the United States

Quote from FortuneTeller:

You are not white you dumb asshole. Who knows or cares whatAnd now you want to crap on Chicago? Wow are you pathetic! What city you going to pick on next, New York? Miami?

Love NY. Love Miami. Not so many stupid people as Washington state or Illinois. Lots of sharp people in NYC.

I call a Stupid White Guy a Stupid White Guy. I call a Stupid Schvartza a Stupid Schvartza. It isn't really a race thing.

You see, stupidity transcends race. :D

You would be painfully stupid regardless of what race or mix. You should just stop so I don't have to keep my foot in your face like this. Don't you have some chickens to feed or something?

Quote from Lucrum:

As usual that doesn't make any sense. The poor taking my money through forced taxation/welfare IS the same as making me "try" with you.

Trying to take more, I should have said.

Stupidity transcends race, religion, political stance, sexual orientation, height, weight, looks... the list goes on.

A liberal sports fan? Boy those guys aren't very bright are they?

Quote from Artful D0dger:

Well, everywhere in the world we find large numbers of blacks generally has some salient common features. I think the empirical evidence illustrates this very well. If that weren't the case, Rhodesia and South Africa wouldn't have turned from great natioins with high living standards right back in to shit holes as soon as Africans took back over and removed white people from power.

No offense intended but I think your take is a bit "racist", and let me explain why. You impute the expectation that blacks and mexicans will "take care of their own business" in the "right environment" And yet, no matter what the environment: hand outs and victim status with preferrential hiring and academic schemes and under oppressive discrimination. The outcome seems to vary little. The notion that these people need to conform to your white, western standards and if they do not that this means there's something "wrong" with them, and they need to be "fixed" so that they can be more like you. The assumption that the could, would, or should conform to your standards and your concept of achievement is in itself very supremacist. What's clear is that many groups have different kinds of societies which they prefer to create.

I agree with part of your point however- forced integration was the worst thing to happen to American blacks in quite some time. Many of them, at the time, did not want integration and did not want to be bused to attend white schools. Most wanted Jim Crow gone, and equal rights, but did not want busing and so forth.

you did not get my point at all.
the right environment for me, would be removal of the great society welfare handout schemes; schemes which have destroyed the social and family structures in many cities.

"Is" does not imply "ought." Group differences, when they exist, pertain to averages, not to individual men and women. There are geniuses and dullards, saints and sinners, in every race, ethnicity, and gender. Political equality is a commitment to universal human rights, and to policies that treat people as individuals rather than as representatives of groups; it is not an empirical claim that people are indistinguishable. Many commentators seem unwilling to grasp these points.
