Why would I get vaccinated for something I already had and recovered from? Makes no sense.

I keep saying this over and over again. When I got the original covid in January of 2020, there was no Covid-19 vaccine available. It took 8 months after I got covid for a vaccine to even be approved.

When I got delta, there was no delta-specific vaccine available.

When I got Omicron, there was no Omicron-specific vaccine available, and there is still no Omicron vaccine available.

If you get this stuff early enough in the curve, there's no help available. You just have to plow through it. Period.

If you were to get Covid a 4th time, you may want to see your doctor to have a complete physical to see if there's something wrong with your "immune system".

I say that because I know someone else that recently retired from the military, top condition...

He had Covid 3x like you and became suspicious because he typically doesn't get sick. Anyways, he decided to have a complete physical with blood chemistry.

• The results of his blood work came back and the Doctor saw something concerning.

Doc then orders all kinds of weird tests / scans and they discover small cancerous lymph...stage 2 cancer.

A few chemotherapy treatments were very successful and he's back to his normal self. Had it not been for those multiple Covid infections...that cancer could have easily spread to something very dangerous like stage 4 or worst because his immune system was not doing well but he didn't know it except for the hints of having multiple Covid infections.

He knows he's very lucky because his old man died from the exact same cancer about 20 years ago.

I will also note that the failure of Durham and other school systems to pay their bus drivers last week... led to many of them walking out on Monday this week. You would think that actually making sure you don't screw up the driver's pay checks would be a helpful measure in ensuring the drivers show up to work.

I caught it on a flight early in the pandemic--was contact traced and contacted through the charter flight co. I was vaxxed early (PFE) bc of prior State Dept gig (thanks Trump!). I got my booster (MRNA) when possible. I know two people, both younger than myself, who died from COVID. Both were unvaxxed; one was 45 and ran 5-10 mile hikes 3X per week. He used to ride his road bike from Incline to Reno and back. If any of you know the area it's grueling. 60 VO2Max. The other individual was 41 and a pilot. Family friend. Avid skier and MTBer.

When you got Omicron? 1) when you got it = too late to vaxx. You make no sense. Mutation-specific vaccine? LOL. The vaccine works for all mutations that are known. It will work against further mutations to a large extent.

Vaccines reduce severity and risk of death. See point three below.

2) You're antivax and that's on you. Your excuses are your own.

3) Over 98% of deaths are in unvaccinated adults.

FYI, Costco is excellent for getting your booster. Almost nobody there and I waited less than five minutes.

My youngest is in a clinical trial and my wife and child fly out to the research hospital monthly. Both are required to test prior to the flight. They both tested + for Delta a few months ago. Both are vaxxed... no symptoms. The postponed the trip for two weeks. All good.

I got PCRed at the same time. Also positive. No symptoms. Uncanny!

Thank you for your service. I say that not because of my military background but because you and your family have taken the fight to Covid plus the fact that you and I grew up for a while in the same northside backyard.

All of my siblings (one a Doctor in South Dakota, one a Nurse in Chicago, and another brother an EMT in Kentucky) are also part of Covid clinical trials...fully vaccinated and boosted. Luckily, not one of them has tested positive for Covid in this Pandemic but if they ever do...they aren't worried.
