Obamacare - Premiums up $2,900.00.

I spoke to a friend who has been in insurance 35 years. He's started and sold 2 insurance companies to banks. The health insurance debacle is mind blowing. He no sooner goes out to a client (i.e. business) and tells them what their options are for health insurance, they review them and select some coverage for employees and BOOM! Here comes Odumbo with more exceptions and exemptions or changes that he sees fit to implement without any approval. So now the company comes back and says "hey, we want to be requoted based on what we heard last week". Other companies have flat out said that they can neither afford to offer the insurance or pay the fine. They may close up shop. Other companies have decided to quit offering health insurance and will instead dump their employees onto the health exchanges so they can get subsidies. He also told me that the tax that was to hit the 'Cadillac' plans in a few years will likely go away and never get implemented as Odumbo worries too much about the adverse end result from unions and other Democratic voting entities. That tax was to be 40% of any amount over the predetermined threshold. So more $$, intended to help fund this fiasco will disappear. So he tells me next that the penalties that will hit the lower income, young and struggling middle class will also likely be rescinded sooner (versus later) as Odumbo won't want to risk losing those votes. Bottom line is even MORE $$$$ goes away and this thing brings on even more red ink. And we discussed that many couples, who don't get subsidies are now talking abut going through the motions to get a divorce (as my wife and I have discussed) so they can avoid the marriage penalty in this stupid law and as individuals have a chance of maybe getting a small subsidy based on allocation of incomes.

To whoever earlier said Odumbo would go down as a great president (I think futuredork) ... if pushing the country to the brink of bankruptcy is criteria then I would agree Odumbo is at the top. The man's approach is to spend, spend, spend ... spend $$$$ that we don't have and give, give, give handouts to his supporters (who have no basis for receiving most of these freebies).

Yeah....but....but Obamacare is good for bigzero. (Or so he claims.)

The difference is when lucrum said it, he backed it up with the precedent set by Harry Reid, where as Big Arrow just pulled it out of his ass that Harry Reid wouldnt block the bill even though he has blocked every single other bill republicans have brought to the floor.

See how that works kid?

And here in SC .... only 57% have paid for their Odumbocare policies and almost 9 out of 10 are getting subsidies.

Nearly 100,000 South Carolinians enrolled in a health insurance policy on HealthCare.gov between Oct. 1 and March 31, the director of the state's insurance department said Monday.

But only some of those 97,387 individuals - about 57 percent - have paid their first month's premium, Director Ray Farmer said.

The number of people actually enrolled may go up or down through May 1 - the deadline by which that first payment must be made.

Data released Monday by the S.C. Department of Insurance shows a sharp increase in Obamacare enrollment in South Carolina during the second half of March. Approximately 30,000 people in this state signed up for a plan during the last two weeks of open enrollment.

The average age for South Carolina consumers who selected a plan was 44, Farmer said, and 89 percent of the shoppers qualified for a federal subsidy to lower the costs of their insurance.

Sounds expensive, for taxpayers anyway.

If there weren't handouts/subsidies then the number of people enrolling would be approaching ZERO!!

No one sees these Odumbo plans as being worth anything close to the premiums being charged .. again, unless you are seeing most of your premiums paid by other taxpayers.

What were these people doing for healthcare before this, who was previously paying the cost ?
