Obamacare - Premiums up $2,900.00.

What were these people doing for healthcare before this, who was previously paying the cost ?

I don't know who was paying but I tire of this 'entitlement' mentality. 89% getting subsidies. More taxpayer dollars being pissed away. Ask yourself WHY are we even having subsidies? Yeah, I know those who make less $$$ can't afford the health care premiums. But that goes back to things like education and taking responsibility for ones own health. I have 13 years of volunteering in schools, the first 5 in a school that had rich, middle class and poor kids; and the last 8 in 2 high poverty schools. Why is it that in those first 5 years I saw kids who were more respectful, who had a stronger desire to learn (across the entire class) and thus, who likely would do better in life assuming they continue with that work ethic and desire to do well in school. The last 8 ... at times I want to quit. The percentage of kids who want to learn is probably 25% of the total population of kids I work with (80). So less than 20 kids seem to have at least some motivation. And if these kids are quitters, dropouts, or otherwise unwilling to work hard they'll be the same as their parents ... getting Section 8 housing, food stamps, Medicaid, free cell phone, energy credits and whatever else they apparently qualify for. And it puzzles the hell out of me how a 'poor' kid has an iPhone. Next, taking responsibility for ones health. The parents (who have been educated on diet, exercise, etc. through school programs) are mostly obese. So one can conclude they likely have more health issues than a healthier person, and thus more healthcare expenses. But as was pointed out in a recent article, even with free (or highly subsidized health care) out of shape people are no more likely to get into shape that other people. Thus, my reference to 'entitlement' society. If there were a financial penalty for being a slob we'd see at least some people wake up. Yet once people are getting free 'stuff' they expect that's the norm and it will continue forever. I remember when food stamps truly were a safety net for people Now people (liberals) bitch about how a family can't survive on whatever their monthly food stamp allowance is. Hello!!! Food stamps were NEVER meant to be the sole source of food/groceries.

Now maybe you can better understand my total frustration with Odumbocare since I pay 100% of my expenses, get no subsidy and am unlike 2/3 of the country (who are overweight or obese). I work out 6 or 7 days/week but it gets me zero as far as healthcare goes. In fact, my rates will go up close to 200% when my current policy goes away and it's largely due to the massive subsidies and the poor health that many choose.

With an educating post like that, don't expect a reply from bigarrow. He's not here to debate common sense such as the above. He's here with an agenda, and God himself would be the only being that could get it through his thick head just how badly his democrats have destroyed a working country...

And btw, his justice will come in November when his "God" loses his rubber-stamp Senate to the Republicans.

So in brief, the children of the wealthy, in general, perform better in school, and are healthier, than the children of the poor?

There wasn't anything to respond to in DH's post. He's bragged about his charity work and his healthy living dozens of times already. I asked a couple of questions and his reply of several paragraphs didn't answer those questions or address the issue. Thank you very much. Leap are you really a Christian ? The reason I ask is you talk about murdering people you disagree with. But heck I haven't been to church in a while maybe that's the new Jesus talking point.

Priceless, you are, as once again, you couldn't answer his post, so you pull the pin, drop the grenade, and it is what it is. I'd say gotta love you low-iq communists, but sadly you're allowed to vote, and are destroying freedom and common sense. Tua momma bocchinara.:)

His post WAS in response to my post. Try to keep up leap, I know you're emotionally and intellectually challenged but you can do better.

LOL!!!! So this is what you've come up with to avoid responding to what he said?? LOL!!!!!!!:D

Please do not illustrate you may fall into the uneducated group.

Did I say the wealthy did better in school? Absolutely not! I said the 5 years where kids performed better was a school that was very heterogeneous made up of rich, middle class and poor kids.

So why do you want to take a lengthy post and summarize it in one sentence that is 100% erroneous?

And for the record the above group was probably 10% rich, 35% middle class and 55% lower class/poor.

I'm assuming you've never spent time in a classroom volunteering. And one reason the heterogeneous group likely did better was that even the poor kids there observed that quite a few kids worked hard and excelled so they emulated that behavior. Whereas in the high poverty schools most kids misbehave. That's not a generalization but based on years of observations.

Maybe re-read my prior post as it seems that you didn't comprehend what was written.

No bozo ..... I'm not bragging in any way. My volunteering has exposed me to part of the reason why this country is so screwed up. NO ACCOUNTABILITY! And a SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT. Is that so hard to conclude from what was written.

You and Richter would likely be in my lowest achieving group of students with the kind of conclusions you drew.

Maybe another part of the problem is that quite a few of us are paying for these entitlements ... but perhaps you're not part of that group.

Go take a remedial reading comprehension class with Richter ... I did address your questions. Maybe you didn't get the answer you wanted to see.
