Nuclear Fail by Obama - Russian bombers in CA

i am absolutely of the mind that we should withdraw our troops from many bases around the world.

That would be a message of strength to Putin, et. al., that we're not to be messed with!

Should have been wearing a dress.

Far better than drawing fake lines and getting clowned by him and syria in the world wide media.

You do what you say you are going to do. You can withdraw on the whole but mean what you say and make the world far safer.

"Syria has researched, manufactured, and used weapons of mass destruction.

"On September 14, 2013, the United States and Russia announced an agreement that would lead to the elimination of Syria's chemical weapon stockpiles by mid-2014.[1] In October 2013, the OPCW-UN Joint Mission destroyed all of Syria's declared chemical weapons manufacturing and mixing equipment.[2]"

Hope you don't mind if i butt in when you asked Jem.

When Russian jets fly by our coasts, that's something for us to take seriously and consider if those provocations have gone too far. I don't think that's policing the world.

When Russians supply Assad in Syria with weapons, that's something that our getting involved in could actually be called policing the world and it was the left that was hell bent for leather to take action there. The left wanted to help people in Syria in a civil war where neither side should be any friend of ours. I don't care if mccain and graham were also for it, it was leftist policy to police the world.
Sure, I don't mind and I understand your point...

I also agree (as I mentioned on the other thread) that the US shouldn't be getting involved in all sorts of conflicts arnd the world. The problem is that, as a result of disastrous foreign policy decisions, US somehow ends up knee-deep in these regional messes, Ukraine being just one of them. When the Russians get pissed off about it and start their own saber-rattling (e.g. the Tu-95s), how exactly is the US govt supposed to respond? Let's assume for the moment that the Russian flights didn't violate US airspace...
Awwww. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. :( It's just that I must have forgotten that your perch in London gives you such a comprehensive view of our west coast and the inner workings of our government, that you can rightly dismiss as "groundless paranoia" any American's disagreement with your pronouncements about what's happening over here.
Nah, my feelings are just fine, don't worry... When/if you have some evidence to suggest that my claim is incorrect, pls don't hesitate to mention. Until then I would rather rely on my common sense. Hopefully, you don't object too much.

Our dollar is no longer worth much in part because we have allowed our dollar to be debased as we spent incredible amounts of money and and blood policing the world. Don't forget this world police force allowed our cronies to see that the dollar became the world wide currency. Which allowed those who created the dollars with key strokes to flood the world with dollars in exchange for loans or assets. (a strategy which debased by a few thousand percent since WWII.) We don't need to continue to lower our standard of living and further debase our dollar to protect those who can protect themselves.

Frankly... most of our leaders lack the morals, the backbone and skills to make correct choices anyway.
Obama and Bush are proof we have to decrease our military and policing ambitions.
So then we're in agreement in general, but we still can't seem to decide on the specific responses that would communicate strength rather than weakness...

Over the past century or so the US has been criticized, sometimes heavily, from within and without, for both getting involved, and for not getting involved. People around the world still call on this country for help. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't.

Glad you're OK! So from your all-knowing perch in London, it's "common sense" to dismiss as "groundless paranoia" skepticism of what the Obama administration discloses, especially if it would make them look even weaker as politics ramp up for the midterm elections? :D When/if you have evidence that skepticism about the openness and veracity of this administration is unwarranted, please don't hesitate to share it.

by the way more sorties at high speed right now going overhead.
