I am confused about what exactly Fox News "withdrew?" As quoted above, their reporting cited a confidential source, identified as a "federal investigator." Did they actually get it from him or are they relying on hearsay about what a federal investigator told someone else? That is a huge distinction. Otherwise, I don't see why they would withdraw it, unless maybe they suspected the federal investigator was somehow bogus.
