That would explain the loosening of the screws. TBH I think half the mad hatters here have been on the losing side of a divorce.

Their arguing style is the kind that indicates they realise their mistake was being too reasonable with the bitch etc. and they try to re-live that battle via posts.

Damn, I really need to be more discerning. In my defense, I often wondered how someone so obviously unbalanced could make the kind of money he said he made with any regularity. But I have to admit that some of his trading-related posts rang true for me.

I don't know. A divorce may have set them off, but the seed must have already been in place, lying dormant. There are some real crazies here that I don't think a single event can explain.

Guys who can't let their bitterness go/must win etc. get royally screwed in divorces. Half the US ex-pats I've met here are retired, republican and divorced as they don't have enough to make it in the US comfortably.

Everyone is trying to take from them and the world owes them.

They get obsessed with things like "gringo prices" even though that essentially never happens here they just need something to be angry about. Similar to Benghazi, the facts will never change them as they believed it once years ago. Still fighting battles they lost to lawyers long ago.
