Nashville Police Shooting

But neither that post nor any subsequent ones seem to want to wait on evidence before passing judgment.

Aren't you the one that came up with the whole "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" comment? I love that phrase, by the way.

It's applicable in this circumstance. Regardless of what happened with the cop, if the perp hadn't tried to flee with a firearm, he'd not have been dead.

To be fair I stole that line. My reaction is on what I see, not what I know, of course first impressions change. It doesn't help that cops have a history of planting evidence.

It doesn't help that I am of the belief cops should not go the lethal route the first time they come across some danger.

I'm speculating here, but I would bet the report of the stolen car was from someone who knew the victim and informed the police, as such the officer involved knew his priors and knew where to look.

The question is then raised... had he let the suspect flee would the suspect then pose a threat to others. Would it had led to a stand-off somewhere? Probably not.

Here's a running video of the aftermath. What exactly do they place on the ground at exactly 9:30? Right before the photographer runs up... in a big hurry.... seconds before the firetruck...

Gotta get those prints on the front strap/trigger

I mean the prints of the perp on the planted gun

Yes, sorry my old AP job had a lot of crime scene and forensics involvement. I think from a photo there was blood evident on the gun. Must have been a fresh photo as it had not gone brown (unless it was paint).

It may well be there was a gun however it does seem to be shot for running away and given he was doing a jackrabbit from the car, hard to see anyone else in immediate risk.

More info will come out, might change opinion.

VZ, you really think that five minutes after the shooting, after 8-9 cops were there, and who knows how many witnesses watching and video recording from the apartment windows, the cop planted a gun on the ground.
Come on. Cops can’t spit without being recorded these days. Must have been a dozen Zapruders videoing on their phones with a dead guy laying there hoping to get some dirt on The Man
No. I do not think that.

I'll admit, its tough to work with the video thats been released. But just say.... they were protecting their own.....
It happens. And we will never know.

Slart..... Come on.... have you really done 1/2 the stuff you say?

More I'm afraid. I have not been to the The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas yet.. after that I guess I've done everything important?

Poaching is one of the world's largest illicit trades. There are many crimes for which there must be evidence for trials. It was part of the job preserving evidence. I've sat in court way too much.

Poaching?
Elaborate.
We're talking about a kid shot in the back and killed.... was the cop justified?
Poaching has to do with endangered species. Another crime for sure.... but why the off topic?
