I agree MSFT is in some sense like MCD. A mature and stable company. However MSFT is a kind of unique (at least now). Almost all PCS except mac and Linux boxes use MSFT operating system. They have income from ad, search engine, cloud service, email account and many PC software.
MCD does not have those privileges. It is just a burger and fries. They are strategically located in airports and highways. You could see that SHAK could easily become a small competitor to MCD. Chipotle, Panera, even Starbucks are all MCD competitors. Since MCD food is not that cheap anymore, it is losing its business in frugal customers sector too. Just compare SBUX results with MCD. MCD was down from $1.40 to $1.25 but SBUX was up 35% . and SBUX was up only 1.2% after results. I don't say you should short MCD but I don't understand one should MCD at this point. No sign of improvement for over 12 Quarters. I also said MCD "might" not exist in 5 years. I did not say MCD "WILL" not exist. I just wanted to point out the high possibility. I believe if MCD delivers another bad Q, activists will step in and will ask the management to sell the stores owned by the corporate and also separate fries business from burger business and will rip apart MCD and you will see there would be nothing left.
HTF do you separate the burger and fry business? You mean two classes? Distinct holding companies? Are you effing retarded?
