"Marketsurfer is correct: There is no Trends!" --- There are only Turns!

Answer the statistical proof that there are no trends in the stock market-- self serving random examples don't prove anything. peace and thanks, surf
What proof? You've posted no proof. Your unsupported claim is the most self-serving thing in this thread.

No question about it, your example trended-- but that's only in hindsight, sorry to say.

Do you believe the indexes trend to a degree to profit from the trend consistently?

Not in hindsight. I identified it on September 4, 2010 on here ( actually I saw this trend much earlier, but that is the date I posted it. You can look up a chart of Valient Pharma since to see what that trend did after my post.

Sorry, but the post is in history and your claim is ridiculous. In fact, if you had bought Biovail stock even at the recent high at that period $24, you'd have outperformed anything you have done in investments I am quite sure given your posting history.

You seem uneducated in the sciences, particularly mathematics. This is the kind of response I expect from someone who is a salesman who understands nothing about what they are selling. I'd love to see the "proof" you claim exists, because I know it's a load of crap.

I don't have a PhD in finance but my wife and close friends do--- we have run these tests numerous times on a variety of data sets, the outcome never changes. You can argue with it all you want, but you are sounding like the ignorant one-- despite your great trade. surf

Do you need foresight ? GBP/CAD is at the beginning of a strong up trend, and I am riding it.

Dude, i am only talking about the stock market. In particular the indexes. We haven't tested the other markets, but trends very well may exist in other markets. nice trade by the way.

You don't even know what the data sets represent guy. It's obvious. Given my education and career background, you are barking up the wrong tree.

I tell you the tools to use, you need to do the work. I have already done it, if you don't believe me, run the numbers yourself. surf

Let this be a marker for foresight and trend. Disregard what happened in the past or what is happening in the present. My speciality is to do with the future. So nothing impressive for now. But we will look back in time.
