The gaynazis were not in a frenzy because of loss of local control over water districts.
Then the state assembly Republicans should not be in such a huff today not to repeal HB2 because they want the Charlotte City Council to hand over control of the airport board to the assembly. I guess the "anti-gaynazis" are in a frenzy over something that has nothing to do with restrooms today.

Limiting the jurisdiction of local courts is a perfectly valid legislative prerogative. Prevailing plaintiffs get their legal bills paid in federal civil rights cases. I see no reason filing in federal court should be more expensive. Why would the state want to encourage cases that are typically legal extortion? Federal courts have vastly more experience in this type of case and would be the venue of choice for most plaintiffs anyway.
The cost of filing cases and retaining lawyers in federal court is much more expensive than in state court. Go look it up.
Your rights to sue for discrimination in state court is a well established legal principle; the state assembly has no right to interfere with it. The good news is this part of HB2 is likely to be overturned in court during 2017 if the assembly takes no action today.
