It's not as rural as you think, though it isn't a place for a single, 31 yo. Its a place for families.

I'm surprised at how much engineering work there is here. I was resigned to having to work at Johnson, Marshall or Kennedy but am getting some inquiries from Melbourne and West Palm that I did not anticipate. Both are within a 1 hour commute more or less. Almost do-able as a commute. Almost. For sure I could come home on the weekends.

I may even live during the week on the boat at the work site if I ever manage to collect my vessel. The storms have been too frequent and too tightly spaced to time a safe passage from Panama.

Pretty soon you will experience the best weather ever, and the reason to live in Florida. Mid October through April is the best time of year. At that point, you could easily live off the boat.

You mean having a city? San Francisco, San Mateo (San Jose), Alemeda (Oakland), Sacramento, LA (LA+Long Beach), and San Diego counties all went for Clinton by over 20 points each. The only county with a top 10 city by population to vote Trump in 2016 was Bakersfield. A conservative CA state would basically be the eastern CA. The same could be done for WA and OR by the way. Outside of the Seattle and Portland metro areas, those states are pretty conservative. However, they are the economic centers of their states. Without these cities the states would be a lot like ID or MT.
