There is a strong debate whether Deep Blue is stronger than the machines of today. Certainly, it was a calculating MONSTER, being able to analyse 200 Million nodes a second. By comparison, Deep Junior running on an eight way system is analysing approximately 3 Million positions a second.Quote from Ninja:

IMHO, Deep Blue is the strongest computer chess playing computer of all time. It is a shame that IBM dismantled it before Kasparov could.
