I don't want to unsettle you, but Deep Blue already defeated Kasparov in 1997...

Yeah but IBM took apart Deep Blue -- so technically, it is dead.

There is a strong debate whether Deep Blue is stronger than the machines of today. Certainly, it was a calculating MONSTER, being able to analyse 200 Million nodes a second. By comparison, Deep Junior running on an eight way system is analysing approximately 3 Million positions a second.

IMHO, Deep Blue is the strongest computer chess playing computer of all time. It is a shame that IBM dismantled it before Kasparov could.

Whats you point here? Do you mean Kasparov will live forever?

I just wanted to clarify that Kasparov already was defeated by a computer years ago. So I think your "I am making a prediction that not only does Kasparov beat DJ, but that computers don't defeat a World Champion caliber player for the next ten years" is misleading.

Probably Kasparov will beat DJ, but that would not be important for the chess world. It would just be another win for him like many others before. If he loses it would just his second loss against a computer. IMHO no important match.
