Just who are the bad guys in the polygamy case?

Quote from trendlover:

I won't put you on ignore, you have the right to your opinion, but I'll try to ignore your insults.

Your forbearance is a rarity here. It's clear that the news today has disturbed a lot of people who were defending these cultists and denying that children were being sexually assaulted in a systemic manner in these 'communities'.

In a free country we must always protect the right of people to choose their own lifestyle, and I believe polygamy alone is a lifestyle choice.

It is another fact of life in a free country that once evidence of cimes such as these starts to emerge, the authorities must wait until they have incontrovertible proof before moving in. Obviously, as I have said before, the authorities in Texas had a whole lot of evidence that they were unable to make available to the public.

Thank God this evil operation was busted up before more children were harmed.

The above quote from tradernik is better written than I could have done, but he expresses what I was trying to say.
So ratboy, if I offended you, it wasn't my intentions, its more likely that my writing skills didn't bring my point of view across clearly.

sorry i have trouble reading her trotsky writings. bottom line you have myself who is a patriot and Christian and you have her who is a marxist atheist. i love the constitution and she loves the UN.

no one wants these children harmed not even her. the big difference in philosophies is how to go about handling the situation. lying on a warrant is huge... no way of getting around it... the ends do not justify the means here. if we set a precedent no telling where it leads and many many others will be at risk.

when the govt takes liberties with the law i get scared. and they use certain techniques to do it usually... one way is "for the children"... another is "the war on terror." the result is always the same.. they take away our God Given rights.

"for the children" "war on terror"

I'd like to add one. Collecting information/data "so we can serve you better" marketing demographics is the name for violating privacy.

Back in the day before we recieved dozens of letters on how everyone is safegaurding our privacy or before hippa we had privacy now everyone is protecting our privacy and we have none.

Marxism? I detest Marxism. Thats another system that dictates how a person can live, like the ranch.
Atheist? That I'm not sure of myself. When the god I was taught to respect also showed me his rules can sometimes only benefit an elite few at the expense of taking my rights away, then I question that. I'm a work in progress on the god issue. I don't pretend to be highly educated to be able to debate on all your topics ratboy, but I do know I am no Marxist.
Maybe you just wrote that about me to make me look bad?

I do see clearly the point your making about violating privacy. I see how in the name of privacy it has the opposite effect of violating privacy. And how when privacy is violated they say it had to be done for a cause...and this way sometimes people rights get stepped on in the name of goodness and righteousness. And if we don't put a stop to that, we lose our libertys, and I agree.
But once again, when there has been testimony from people who have lived in a system/community who claim that system/community is in violation of peoples freedom to choose who to marry, or when to marry, or where to work and at what job, and how much they will make, then how does the law step in to insure those people in that community have due liberty? The leaders of that community who are "systematically" taking away the followings "god given rights", or libertys, or constitutional rights, are suing the government for the same thing that they do to their flock of god loving and fearing people.

It is something very hard to understand

I agree with you Rat. I'm troubled by the way this case has been handled so far.
