you mistake my enthusiasm for the constitution as an endorsement for under aged sex? because i want due process for these people and am scared as hell for these children going into the state's custody? you are very close to going on ignore.

Ok, many religions use their god and their gods rules to benefit some kind of want of the leaders. But do all these religions build a town of their own, with their own dairy, own quarry, own farms, churches and temples all self contained, gated, and only a select few ever go out to take care of business? So the people inside are never seen by anyone, and no one outside is allowed in. At least in catholic church it was open to suspician by being in the mainstream and same for many other religious institutions. And at least with all the priests that have been getting caught, the boys who they victimized could go home and tell their parents or someone. No so in the ranch. Everything that is done to them is considered the word of god and becomes normal. They have absolutely no rights.
You do know that Warren Jeffs nephew testified that he was repeated sodomized by Warren Jeffs and 2 other uncles as punishment. Maybe in gods eyes the boy deserved it? Who are we to judge a culture that is differnt than ourselves? If that is the teachings of their prophet, than we should not interfere?

You posted a comment about age of sex at the turn of the century and cps would have a field day with that. So to me that means age is relative to you, and who is to say waht the right age is to have sex. Ok, but when boys from the white house have been brought from cps for sex, you call it pedophilia. I can't help but think that you don't see as much harm in a young girl having sex with a grown man, but for a young boy to have sex with a man is pedophilia.
Ratboy, my intention was not to paint you as being for pedophilia. I think that maybe males (you are male?) see sex with a young girl as normal in some ways. And I agree that some girls are sexually mature. But that doesn't justify a man picking them who is much older, and she has no say about if she wants to or not. That is the wrongness of it to me.
Just the same as those boys at the white house who were picked to have sex, but they had no say in the matter.

i am 100% against polygamy. i am 100% against a 50 yr old man marrying and having sex with a 13... 14... 15... 16... 17 yr old. and to be frank.. i'm not thrilled with a legal relationship of a 50 yr old man with an 18 yr old either.... all the way up to her 30's.
i am against how they went about things: the hoax call was known 3 days prior to the invasion and they kept that hush hush.... separating a mother from her very young down syndrome child.... taking over 400 children that had nothing to do with anything.
the media's complicity in hyping the hysteria and smearing all of these people just set off huge alarms for me.
what i want is the law followed. when the govt takes liberties with the law i get scared. and they use certain techniques to do it usually... one way is "for the children"... another is "the war on terror." the result is always the same.. they take away our God Given rights.
i could go on and on.. but its late.

I agree there were mistakes in handling the women and children. They should have had a better plan on how to keep them all together. I don't agree that there was no probable cause to go into the ranch. They have heard many ex members give their account of what goes on. They also know these people as a whole abide by the same laws of god, therefore if underage arranged marriages is happening as ex member testimony has said, and this is the teachings of god as ex memebers have said, then how does the law go about investigating without going in and taking some of the group to investigate? If you want to talk about "god given rights" than don't you think the people of the ranch have "the god given right" to have the law of the country they live in investigate testimony to crimes?
