Jeanine Pirro is off the air at Fox News

Looks like we've got another staffer for the Trump admin. Ginsburg replacement?

Jeanine Pirro is off the air at Fox News one week after Islamophobic comments

New York (CNN Business)Jeanine Pirro was off the air at Fox News on Saturday, one week after she was widely denounced for doubting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's patriotism.

Last Saturday night Pirro questioned whether Omar's Islamic religious beliefs stand in opposition to the US Constitution, prompting Fox to say "we strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro's comments."
The network said at the time that the views Pirro expressed "do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly" — but declined to say if she was being sanctioned in any way.
Several advertisers subsequently distanced themselves from Pirro's weekly show, called "Justice."
The show did not appear on this weekend's cable schedule guide. In its place was an unusual repeat of a documentary series.

Pirro has not said anything about taking a vacation. She hasn't tweeted since last weekend. All together, the circumstances suggest that she has been suspended by Fox in the wake of her comments.
That is due to climate change.

Pirro's issue goes back to JFK and the anti-Catholicism movement when he was running for President. This reminds me of the issues with JFK where people though that because he was Catholic, he had allegiance to the Pope and would defer to the Pope and not the Constitution. The U.S. was very anti-Catholic in its history and was questioning JFK's loyalty to the Constitution based on his faith. There was a lot of anti-Catholic racism against JFK but he managed to win over the Southern Christians.

Questioning someone's loyalty to the Constitution simply based on their religion and no other action is a no-no.

Heard small rumblings about Lieberman (Jewish) when he was running as well.

Pirro's problem is also one of making it worse by backtracking and not apologizing and claiming a misunderstanding....

Her original comment was : "Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine (wearing headdress) indicative of her adherence to Shariah law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?"

Then she said: “My intention was to ask a question and start a debate, but of course because one is Muslim does not mean you don’t support the Constitution"

So what debate..... can a muslim serve in office? If a Catholic or Jew can serve why not a Muslim?

I don't think a private media outlet needed to fire her to be honest, it was just an opinion albeit a very sensitive one. We don't get to claim someone is disloyal to the Constitution based on their race or religion.

Fox chose to fire her because they had her replacement already in line...

It is clear to whom Omar is loyal and that is Radical Islam, but don't take it from me, just another old white guy. Take it from someone who should know.

"In sum, criticism of Omar’s actions is not an attack on her faith, nor is it an attack on the Somali community, or her skin color. It’s an attack on Omar’s actions, while raising the question of if and how America failed in integrating Omar and the community that influenced her.

As we pan through her tweets, interviews, and legislative work, we’re looking for American values that transcend race, color, and creed. Those American values aren’t defined by whether she practices Islam, chooses to wear a hijab, and so forth — those factors are absolutely irrelevant here. We’re looking to see if she can isolate the values that gave rise to a nation she and her family sought refuge in from war-torn Somalia.

If you have difficulty identifying what distances America from foreign terror groups for example, or deflect criticism with accusations of racism or bigotry versus engaging in a sophisticated debate of ideas, then once at the helm of power, you run to risk of not being able to keep America from becoming another country to escape from.

Omar is part of a growing legislative arm of the Islamist body, a body that was already well-formed with lobbies, cultural icons, and academics. Yet, as a Muslim reformer, my concern is less with Omar and more so with the debilitating chaos, controversy, and polarizing communication breakdown she brings. That is what Islamists do. They create chaos because they thrive in chaos."

Your answer about my comment on the criticism of Pirro is with a long winded article criticizing Omar's comments and actions..... ??

If you are upset with Omar not getting in trouble bring it up with her bosses. Fox, a conservative media outlet who really does not care what other's think decided to take action for whatever reason.

You state this as though it is obvious, but it's anything but. There is a fair question of whether or not someone's religion demands adherence to policies inconsistent with our Constitution. Belief in Sharia Law, which is meant to supersede civil law, is clearly problematic.

It's ironic that suddenly religious beliefs are off the table, but your side has no problem judging conservative Christians on their belief system.
