James Comey Testifies before Senate Intelligence Committee

I am amused by the differences on the CNN and FOX News websites today.

CNN is "Comey: President Trump lied White House: No he didn't"

FOX is all about the "Lynch covered for Clinton" and the email server.

This shows the clear bias of both networks.

Since the testimony was about Trump firing Comey, how is it bias to actually cover that instead of the red herring about Clinton? It shows Fox's bias, they are nothing but state media now.

Actually if you have been watching the scope of the testimony has been about Clinton's email server, Lynch, Comey leading info to the press, the Russia investigation, the timeline & communication with Trump. It is all driven by the questions, and the allowed agenda is completely open.

It is interesting what different media outlets decide to highlight and ignore. For example, ABC is all about Comey having a friend leak a memo he wrote after meeting with Trump.

All of this relates to the bias of different news networks. For example, if you look at CNN you are left to wonder if Comey even mentioned Lynch.

This testimony would NEVER have happened if Comey wasn't fired - and Comey was fired because of the Flynn investigation which Trump wanted to end.

This was never about Lynch or Clinton, those could have been answered before if he was asked and he would have answered it in exactly the same way as he did today - the only reason we are even talking about political influence is because Trump tried to influence a criminal investigation. So instead of focusing on WHY the question was even asked, Fox is focusing on Clinton - that's bias.

Partisans will go back to their respective corners. No knockout punches were delivered. Totally unbiased people like myself will note the following: Trump, still accustomed to throwing his weight around in corporate America mishandled the entire Flynn/Comey situation. Ham handed, yes. Deliberately obstructing an investigation, no. Objective observers will also note that Lynch was definitely providing cover for Clinton during the email investigation. Lastly, a question I'd like to hear asked is, would we be still investigating Russian attempts to influence the election had Clinton won?

Glad you are not a partisan!!

By ignoring any of the testimony about Lynch and the Clinton server - CNN is displaying the exact same type of bias as FOX. Especially in view of their salacious headlines - which are not about the actual testimony, but "who lied" - something that is about opinion and not the facts from the testimony.

The bottom line: All of these news outlets are biased, to be objective in your evaluation you need to know and understand the bias of the outlet you are taking the information from. Focusing on the the actual facts embedded in their articles/videos rather than simply taking their biased opinion as gospel is important to having an objective understanding of these situations.

Lynch or Clinton weren't the focus - Trump was because he fired Comey. Clinton and Lynch are complete red herring - that issue is dead and not related at all to the current matter in hand. Asking someone to change language is not even close to asking someone to END a criminal investigation.

Also, CNN had wall to wall coverage of Clinton emails when it was in the focus just like Fox News but only one channel is still focusing on Clinton when the focus is Trump's firing of COmey

“Okay, so again,” Risch said. “So the American people can understand this, that report by the New York Times was not true, is that a fair statement?”

It was not true,” Comey said. “Again, all of you know this, maybe the American people don’t. The challenge — I’m not picking on reporters about writing stories about classified information… [the challenge is] that people talking about it often don’t really now what’s going on and those of us who actually know what’s going on are not talking about it.”

“And we don’t call the press to say, hey, you got that thing wrong about this sensitive topic,” Comey said. “We just have to leave it there.”
