IMHO, it is the elites who are running the US, and probably most of the world. Not sure how much impact our votes have, although for sure, they have some impact.

Seems the world is headed for the New World Order. When I read about conspiracy theories, there is certainly some food for thought. However, above all else, I do believe individuals do possess more power than they believe.

Perhaps things move in a circle. Around the 1930's there was a similar economic picture....and there was a rise in facism. It looks like the plan has been for the elites to raid the US reserves. They have suceeded. They have also suceeded in gaining alot more wealth for the upper echalon.

Gandhi stated that throughout history good prevails. Lets hope so.

warning! warning! Bush Derangement Syndrome running amok on this thread!

Seems to cause ordinary liberals to imagine greater and greater untruths.

Why these people probably actually think FDR's policies helped rescue the US from the depression. egads! How corrupted can the human mind become!

If Bush had one ounce of generosity or one iota of integrity in his entire body he would resign.
Maybe he would make some sort of apology and go back to Texas to raise long horned hamsters or something

Looks like it's going to be McCain. I hope so... not because I'm a supporter, but so that if he gets elected and has an active veto pen, he might postpone the morphing of the USA to the USSA (United Socialist States of America).

The two key words being "might postpone". I.e., if he won, he might postpone, and further, it would only be a postpone.

Would you bet your dog's water bowl that he will win in November?

I'm not a bit surprised that you want him to raise small animals, especially an animal that fits into certain orifices.

I have been a registered Republican for quite awhile ( but don't always vote that way in the General Election ). I grew up during the Reagan years here in California.

In any event, there will be an issue with McCain and that is his health. The man has had cancer not once, but TWICE and looks a bit on the frail side.

He needs to release his medical records to the public . . . something which he has not done since 1999 when he last ran.

You know something about that??

No need to wager. I've already come to grips with the fact the over the balance of my lifetime, the Gummint is likely going to hose me out of 90% of my wealth. So who wins in '08, will not be significant.

John McCain maybe standing on a small hard spot in the middle of quick sand, aka Charlie Keating, American Continental, & Lincoln Thrift. As an AZ native, I'm just waiting for the media to ask the money question...I forgot, it's called campaign contributions:)

Quote from Thunderdog:

I am genuinely amazed at how some people here willingly, if perhaps not knowingly, embarrass themselves to no end by supporting anything that GWB has ever done. And that these folks are not even remotely embarrassed by their president and his conduct gives me pause. True, we must all allow for a difference of opinion. But reality can only accommodate so much. The Internet is well and truly an eye-opener.

3 sets of people who still love bush.

1) they hate america and want to see it destroyed

2) they confuse religion with politics and good governance

3) the ultra-elite (no one on ET)
