iPhone 6 plus or Galaxy S5- help me decide

It sounds great but that's mainly a function of the buds I'm using. You can have the greatest audio source in the world, but if the buds suck, then the sound is still going to be awful.

What do you rec as buds? I have JVC and am disappointed.

As the level of background voices goes up, the number of interpreted errors goes up. If the background sound is just engine noise while driving or some other type of low-level hum, then it still works great. But if you are listening to talk radio in the background while you're speaking a text message, the interpreter will really mangle your sentence.
Common sense stuff. And glad it works this well! Am texting that gal from last night, and she blisters me in how fast she can send stuff on that note 3. I'm actually considering it. Thanks for the posts. And the ear buds, I'll go $295 for, and imagine the Sennheiser's will be outstanding! Convexx needs his own section for posting purchase recommendations of male gear, lol!

I use Shure SE535's. They are very expensive but worth saving up for. I should mention that these go pretty deep in your ear canal so they also work as a noise canceler as well. If my wife says something to me while I'm using these in the family room, I can't even hear a word she said. Now she'll claim I never hear a word she says anyway, but that's another topic completely. :)

Lol!! If you turn up missing, we'll remember to tell the cops about the ear bud connection being a likely motive for her.:D

LOL! I'll check them out. Thank you.

Whoa, you are right, that's some serious coin for in ear buds!!

Came in a little bit ago from my designated driver gig with friends, lol. Anyhow, I checked out a note 3 a gal had. That phone is a bad ass as well as the S5 active I was going to get today. And not too big at all. I put it in my pocket, and it "fit" perfect. In hands, is great. I actually like a bigger phone. And damn, she could text like a machine gun with that thing! Very impressive! And no, I wouldn't use a case on the note 3 either. Too much bulk. It's right the way it is. Pretty tough too. Tough choice as I do like the note 3! And as stated above, aapl had better have some stunner for me to break away from the Samsung S5a, or yours. How does it sound with earbuds?

I'll take a pic of my phone inside the Pelican case. The Active S5's GPU is one-up from the S5 due it being a later release. Also the screen is 1mm-larger. Go with the regular model if you want the biometric. I always use a case so I can throw it in the car, etc. Yeah, the Active is waterproof, but I'd never use it for underwater photography. There isn't any advantage if you're going to use a case. The standard S5 with a matte-screen protector and Pelican case is the shit. Or wait for the 6 Plus (45-days).

iPhones use a Cirrus Logic integrated DAC and HP amp. It's fine and tests very well. I have the latest gen iPod touch and the SQ is close to that of the S5. The Wolfson in the S5 is "warmer" sounding. Both will be excellent with top IEMs. The SE535 are great for vocals. The IE80 are great for other genres. Huge bass (if needed) in the IE80.

Let me know what you think of what these people think, lol: http://mysamsunggalaxys6.com/
I'm not too sure about curved though. Also, att store manager basically jumps up and down swearing the iPhone 6 plus is what "I want." He pulled a S5 out of his pocket, and said he likes it well, but the i6p is outstanding. We'll see..
Btw, couldn't find an actual galaxy s6 release date. If you know something, hook a brother up. I won't buy too many puts or calls, I promise. Lol!

I love my tech but I'm very frustrated with my Note 2 and my Nexus 7 at times. Not sure if it's the Android or just the basic touch screen idea or processors are a little too slow or what but they both drive me nuts at times. Never been interested in those little Apple phones until now, going to look at the iPhone 6 plus, who knows, the UI might suit me better...

I really always wondered at the people that just couldn't accept the idea of a large phone. I argued with them a couple of years back. I made fun of them with their little hands and their wonderment at technology. They are still at it? I recall one that wouldn't get a Note because it wouldn't fit in his shirt pocket, I pointed out that if he bent over his phone would fall out anyhow..
