From what I have read, Apple does not want to include an option for any type of external or additional internal storage options as that would conflict with their pricing model first established a decade ago with the iPods - charging different prices for different storage capacities. Except for the cellular data option, the guts of all the current iPad models are the same except for storage. That's their hook.

If you are that desperate for your pdf's, open a FREE dropbox account and use Good Reader on the iPad.

I agree, Mav. I don't understand the point of a super pad.... To crunch numbers while laying in bed? Makes zero sense. By the way, posting this from an iPad and I love it!

I did switch back from the iPhone 4 to the 3GS as I never could get use to the shape of the 4. Terrible in my opinion while the 3GS is near perfect in the hand.

I understand that the iPad is already a tool for some but the features of the iPad aren't robust enough for a lot of applications.

I use a tablet as a desktop replacement for email, my Office 2010 needs, browsing, and order entry. When I'm in my office I have it connected to a docking station with 2 extra monitors, a Lightscribe DVD drive, a wireless keyboard and mouse and a nice set of Altec Lansing speakers.

When I travel I use it for email, my Office 2010 needs, voice recognition software, browsing, order entry & remote chart monitoring.

I know this is extreme but the iPad doesn't come close to handling this. I also know of lot of business that are looking for tablet that feel the same way. They need more open ports, more RAM (the iPad 2's 256MG RAM is pathetic) and power.

The Asus is $1099.00 not $3000.00.
The iPad is a hybrid and good at what it does but as a tablet it is deficient.

The top-of-the line iPad2 with 4G and the larger 64GB SSHD is $850.

The Asus EP121 Slate is $250 more for a faster processor and 3.75GB more of RAM. Not counting more open ports, more expandability and a more open business OS platform. Seems like a far upcharge.

Why would YOU spend $1100.00 on a tablet? You probably wouldn't. But they make different size cars and models for the same reason. Different individuals have different needs for the equipment they buy.

Right but why not just buy a laptop? Seriously. I don't want to run my life on an i-pad. I would use for recreation. So I don't need 50 gig of ram and 100 open ports. I honestly don't think Steve jobs built the tablet with the business customer in mind. That may change in the future. He has been pretty stubborn about even making his macs business friendly. I honestly don't think he wants to even service that crowd.

So no, I would not be interested in the high end i-pad either. I just think a laptop beats a tablet hands down on pretty much everything across the board.
