If the Articles never go to the Senate then was the President really impeached?

...

"The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments."

If Trump has already been impeached, then THE SENATE HAS SOLE POWER to try the impeachment. Nancy Pelosi is trying to set terms of the Senate and is therefore in violation of US Constitution. Its not the first time, its not the last.

Which means that Trump has been impeached. Why is this an argument?

P.S. I am neither for nor against this guy. I just don't like his attitude.

Its an argument because the Democrat Constitutional Scholar cited during the impeachment hearings says that it isn't impeachment until the matter is "communicated" to the Senate for trial.

Is that Democrat wrong? What about the rest of his testimony?

So, is Pelosi never going to "communicate" the articles to the Senate? If that is true, then yes, I suppose he will never be impeached. And if THAT happens, then what was the point of these past four months?

I think she will send it over. She was trying to wrangle stuff from McConnell but she knows it must be sent over before January 3rd (the end of the session) or they will have to repeat the vote.

Yeh, I dunno. Everything is in the direction of going into February now for the trial, if not March. And then again, maybe not at all. How can we know, when they don't know?

This is the trial that Pelosi finally caved in on provided that it could be over by the end of October.

The House is now adjourned until January 7 so I don't see Pelosi coming on her break to make anything happen. So there goes January 4.

I dont know of any legal reason why the vote would have to be repeated just because the session ended but I can look at that along with others if you see anything.

Pelosi has pretty well fucked this one up. The thing they dreaded the most was not having this over with before primary season which begins Feb 3, I think is the first one. Nothing can be done to avoid that now. Even if it is over by the end of January, that is nightmare for the three Senators who want to be campaigning right before Feb 3. To say nothing of the opportunity cost related to having voters focused on impeachment during that time frame when they want them to be focused on whatever their messages are.

But, hey, I watched CNN a little bit and everyone there has a rap as to why Pelosi is the master in charge here and Mitch is gasping for air. Trump wants to be impeached but, by jove, they are denying him. So take that Orange Man.

Off into la-la land now.

The Democrat is correct. Presidents are not impeached until Articles are sent to The Senate.

Agree. I went over to reddit on the day of impeachment and I was absolutely shocked by the amount of people that thought this meant Trump is out of office. I saw one comment that said "I've never been so happy. I'm so glad this buffoon is gone". He was given reddit gold and silver and hundreds of upvotes and not one person correcting him.

Reddit really makes you wonder how the younger generation can be brain washed so badly. And if they can ever see the light when they get older.
