All this long talk and you still just pass by the shop that employees illegals and do nothing. Even a phone call to local law enforcement is inconveniencing your laid back lifestyle too much . I am referring to the light/medium manufacturer. The guy watching that punch press slam up and down all day was making 12bucks an hour in the nineties. That job pays pretty much the same today, has fewer benefits and longer hours to offset the lousy base pay. The only difference is the guy doing the job. Today it's more than likely a Mexican provided by a temp service. I have no doubt things are better in academia. The screwy glitch got me again

Any job gets commoditized over time which is why income over time in real terms decreases. Same with any engineering or other job.
