How I Made $180M in 6 Months Trading Natural Gas

I was looking for the way he made it into trading millions. He came from a very depressed region in El Salvador and that didn't sound like he had the capital to start with. But the key is that he started as an intern in a trading firm that had a model for natural gas. He became a professional trader there, so that made sense to me.

I think he is legit. His linkedin shows that he's been into trading and investing for about 15 years, so it would be possible that if he focused on natural gas he became an expert on that market.

He also said that he busted his account and lost pretty much everything, but managed to recover again and make those 180 millions. That sounds like a trader.

I've heard of other cases of traders making hundreds of millions trading energies. I haven't watched the video, but I have no reason to disbelieve it.
 
He's lived in Houston since 1997. That is 26 years for those math challenged.

So he learned how to trade in the energy capital of the U.S, if not the world. Riyadh would beg to differ about that.

I hope to watch it tonight as I hate giving an opinion before I educate myself and watch the actual video, but I believe very little in this trading world when claims are extraordinary.

I'll watch it tomorrow if anyone doesn't provide the Cliff's Notes by then.

Doesn't seem unlikely to me considering the wild moves in energy over the last year or two if he traded with high leverage and pyramided into positions. Question is of course if it was a lucky run or if he have any consistency in his trading. Either way, he's set by now unless he blows it.

One of the top taxpayers for a longer period in Norway was a retail trader trading electricity futures. Started out with 20K some 15 years ago and accumulated a fortune (over a billion NOK which is around 100M USD). Incredibly, he blew the entire fortune on one single trade. From rags to riches and back to rags.

EDIT: Found this online in case anyone's interested. There's no reason to doubt that this guy was the real deal at least.

I did watch it, and what you describe is exactly what I thought before watching, the natgas market has certainly been crazy enough lately. But in the video he claims to have done non-retail location arbitrage, etc. at a professional firm whose money he was trading. So the weird part is how his (purportedly) LinkedIn profile emphasizes something else (making him sound like a typical "educator" scammer).
