How a Mathematician Became the Greatest Trader of All Time

The current CEO wrote a book. There is a quote to the effect of:

“we had an office in NYC with lawyers, accountants and business professionals and every day they proved to me that all the brains werent in white plains”
I didn't search very long but I found an interview where Simons mentioned that he started out hiring people who knew nothing about finance. He says it just after the 33:00 mark on the video below. He never said that they never hired traders with a finance background later down the road though. But when I read the two books mentioned earlier in this thread it gave the same the same impression that the people who were designing trading strategies were trained math and computer scientists.

Paying less money than the next guy is the same as making.

the guys in question added billions in wealth to the firm just like the traders did.

get it?
If not, sorry move on.
You have to make the money before you have a need for saving the gains from the IRS. The tax professionals are indeed talented, but the trading program is what sets Renaissance apart from the rest of the funds.

You are bordering on retarded.

It’s a business. The traders trade. The lawyers do law. The accountants do accounting. The business earns.

And without those of us on the other side of their trades they don't have a business.
