Housing Rolling Along 2

Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:

I've never seen a market break when every participant is bearish.

Just because something rises astronomically doesn't portend mean reversion. Look at the Dow. We've never "re-tested" 4k, 5k, 6k or even seven thousand after running 800% in the 90's.

If someone is bullish gold then they should own their home. If someone is bearish on the dollar they should own a home. If you live in San Diego or L.A. or NYC and you can't afford a home than I suggest MOVE. Those places are for high wage earners. One need not live in Solana Beach to trade 100 shares of INTC from a laptop at the coffee house.

IMO, there's enough inventory that prices will be sideways for perhaps years. But a wholesale crash? I put the odds at 10%.

San Diego is not for high wage earners. San Diego is for people who bought their house 20 years ago.

Hmm....I see I struck a raw nerve.

I really appreciate any info anyone can give me here.....

I have been all over Cali but never to SD. My wife and I have to move to San Diego area for a job related move (my wife's) and we want to rent an apartment.

She will be working mainly in the Solana Beach/Del Mar area. I have been online looking at Craigslist, forrent.com and alike. All I can find everyone saying about living anywhere in SD county, whether north or south is that "you will get mugged, you will have your car keyed or broken into, and your house/apt will be burglarized" and "it's not a matter of if it will happen but when"

Best move I ever made......

I love SD , except I do miss Miami :)

I just don't miss the hurricanes.. suck so bad to be there thru 4 of them the same summer!!

i guess its better that way and I should leave it at that.

But you should know that Pabst probably had days where he made and lost houses.

so before you make fun of his trades you should probably own a house.

Obviously juvenile and outside of trading pathetic - but on a trading thread, very funny.

why do I ever have to own a home?? What is wrong with being diversified in all my holdings without investing in Real Estate???

what is wrong with moving around from NYC to Miami, to Austin to SD???

I love moving all the time with my wife and wouldnt change it for the world.

I get to rent and live in luxury in the most beautiful places on earth without worrying about home prices and or any problem associate with owning a home...

Nothing beats traveling this great nation and seeing, living and taking in all the country has to offer...

you can keep your homes.... good luck to you
