Hints of higher health premiums in 2015

And you think everybody knows how to shop .. whether it be for health insurance or any other product.

The last 3 years our monthly premium went from $385 to $340 to $364.

And one reason why premiums climb is we're a nation of unfit, fat slobs for the most part. Couch potatoes. Who don't exercise. Who eat fats food. Who eat excessive amounts of food.

"an·ec·dote
ˈanikˌdōt/
noun
noun: anecdote; plural noun: anecdotes

a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.
"told anecdotes about his job"
synonyms: story, tale, narrative, incident; More
urban myth/legend;
informalyarn
"amusing anecdotes"
an account regarded as unreliable or hearsay."

Another reason premiums are climbing is that we're an aging population--demand is rising.

Want another bet? 10 years ago I was paying $157.26/month .... and the last year my wife and I paid $364.08/month, or $182.04 per person.

That's an increase of $24.78/month, or 15.75% over that time period.

Do you understand anything at all about this? Many people are stupid and don't shop well. Many people don't do research. They just say "let's buy a Blue Cross policy".

And I don't shoot from the hip. As I stated I have tax/financial records going way back ... so have premium invoices from 10 years ago and have current data as well.

And if you think I'm shooting from the hip I will AGAIN offer you a wager. this time it's a bet that I was paying $157.26 ($478.71/quarter). And I'll gladly produce documentation that shows the $364.08 in the most recent year.

Wager amount? $500K. If you're so certain I'm shooting from the hip then you'd be an idiot to turn down a wager made in a public forum.

lol such a big swinging dick who only pays for major medical/hospitalization. I hope someone takes the bet so you can afford some legit health coverage.

So why don't you take it?

A far more pertinent discussion... how many of those participating in this thread had to enter the ACA pools? I have comprehensive PPO employer coverage and don't pay a cent out of pocket for a family of six. I know Tsing didn't; how about the rest of you fools? Living the life, bros. Tracking his MM/hospitalization prems to the penny. Actions of a loser.

No, haven't had to enter one of those pools yet. Though who knows what the end game to this is.

I pay own, I went with the top plan, I don't cover myself on workers comp in my company so this is a lot cheaper than that. I spend more in the difference in premiums between the top plan and cheapest plan going out with friends, so why worry and bitch and moan. It's better than a poke in the eye.
