in the future, society will be judged by what it did during that brief period when it was a democracy. And most will be judged as failures who just voted for more money for themselves.

No, I'm saying she fits the profile and the time is right. She's paranoid, believes she is entitled to the throne, and has no problem with the end will justify the means concept. We have a media, both sides, that have abandoned investigative journalism and now simply circle the wagons to defend their chosen party position. We also have a population which has become very accepting of making changes without thinking things through. Just do it, faster is better. No thought put into the unintended consequences. Add to that a current government so corrupt, again both sides, that it makes the Nixon administration look like a bunch of Boy Scouts.
We're on a bad path.

the democrats criticism of Hillary is just for show to prove they are objective. If her ratings ever drop, all that democrat criticism will dry up and they will stand 100% behind her with their 5 tv networks. And rupert and his crazy stable of nutcases who call themselves journalist will only be able to sell advertising to the 40% who have always been there and religiously vote republican but are getting old and dying.
A key ingredient is missing: a truly bad economy with widespread suffering. Yeah, it could be better, yeah a lot of groups have not advanced much in 30 years, but it's not THAT bad out there, and it has been improving (yeah, it could be stronger). But imo we're not ripe for a paternalistic type, save us!, welcome, fascist takeover of the government and the nation's psyche.
That key ingredient is bubbling under the cover of the Fed. 4-8 years is a long time my friend. When it finally does blow, whoever is in charge is going to matter, a lot.

Typical democrat, once you are forced to support a democrat like Hillary you start changing your tune. Suddenly wealth disparity and the evil 1% (including Hillary and her husband) are no longer the enemy. What we need now is to simply keep this democrat recovery going and not let any conservative republican mess it up. Obama already gave us hope and change, now all we need is Hillary to keep it going. What are all you democrats going to do when you can no longer bitch and now have to claim "It's not that bad?"

I was responding to the idea that we may have Hitler-esque fascism imminent with the election of Hillary. Conditions in America are not severe enough to make that scenario plausible, imo. We don't have masses of cold, hungry, demoralized citizens living with wild inflation and under brutal economic constraints imposed from abroad. That's all I meant when I said, "it's not that bad". We simply do not look remotely like Germany in the aftermath of WWI.
