H1N1 Black Swan? CDC Says 40% in US May Contract H1N1; Hundreds of Thousands May Die

We already know the sheeple will panic, giving government yet another opportunity to do what they want without the oversight of vigilant Americans. So why not panic the people? It's called job security. They must now legitimize their ever-more-expensive existence.

More people die from influenza than from this bug.

I hope the H1N1 is nothing major but some people are so put off by the media's coverage—and it's hard to blame them—they're convinced it's just more misinformation and there's absolutely nothing to worry about. I don't see it that way. This thing is just a mutation away from killing 1% of the infected population in developed countries and crushing 3rd world countries.

Worst case scenario, let's say after a mutation 1/3 of the U.S. population gets infected and 1% of the infected dies. That's 1+ million dead over one or two flu seasons. Chances are it won't play out so severe, but it's not really something to scoff at if you ask me.

India would be real tragedy if it became widespread even in it's current state. They appear from this article tonight to be overwhelmed. Not be the cases so far, but by the implications of major spreading and no way to deal with it on a mass scale.

I can't blame people for think the media is hyping this, especially after the Y2K fiasco.

What worries me, though, is that if early indications are accurate (from Mexico), this already has an affinity for striking down the young and healthy with a vengeance.

They've already demonstrated that those with healthy immune systems essentially drown in response to it, as their lungs fill with fluid as a byproduct of their immune system kicking into hyperdrive.

So, yes, if it mutates and and acquires some of the traits of the seasonal influenza, it could be an issue.
 
Haha Y2 what? What a damn media hype that was, I was anticipating something on a tiny scale but nothing even happened. As for the H1N1 it seemed to be significant in the beginning but now has been somewhat forgotten by most of the public. I really don't hear it in the media or people I talk to as much as I did months ago, everyone has gotten very comfortable over this.

Exactly! This is why I will NOT be taking any vaccine. Whatever they come up with will be such a rush job we will have no clue whats in it or if it will do any good at all....or if it will be worse than the disease itself.

Dr's and Chemists: OK we got something ready. We just threw some stuff together but we think it will work.

WHO: OK great whats in it?

Dr's and Chemists: Well its 2% ethanol, 5% isopropyl alcohol, and 10% Lysol in a propylene glycol solution. It ought to kill damn near any virus. We can call it the super vaccine.

A close relative is being treated for a non contagious lung disease so I asked their doctor, an infectious disease specialist. He said he wanted to see and analyze the clinical trials before recommending that she get the vaccine because, as mentioned, in the 70's the vaccine killed more than the virus.
 
least he's on the right page.

No vaccine for me either. Sadly, my mother is a 30+-year RN so when this shit begins to break more, I'll get to hear about it again and again :(

I wonder if the "flu shot" they do annually this coming year will have a mixture bit or be more for swine flu as well...:confused:
