<<<<<<<<<<MY FAVORITE TWO NEW IDEAS

A) TTD-

B) DV-

<<<<<<<<<<<<<< My Favorite contrary play.....

A) AA-

Inflation has peaked.- Growth is slowing. Cyclical plays have been hammered. BUT their is a bull market in aluminum and in cans.

This is a disconnect. Due to Index's it will be hard to pry AA away from other ideas like steel...//

You got a theme, ok, there could be worse themes I suppose, now you have to do some legwork.

But since you've been so nasty to me lately because I've had like 10 perfect timing calls in a row, unheard of across any social media outlet, the part where I do the legwork will now be replaced by me only providing guidance.

First of all, I'd read the transcripts of Inbev, Pepsi, Bud, etc. What did they say?
And if any CC would have addressed it in depth lol, it would be my favorite crazy CEO of FIZZ. They use a lot of cans.
So see if this came up in the cc's.

Now lucky for your theme, Aluminum like all the other metals has dropped nicely. I'm unfamiliar with the business. Do end users purchase and sign contracts for future dates? If so, and they signed when AL was at a top.... these can companies will make bank.
OR>>> are cans purchased on a just in time basis?
These are the questions you need to research.

I'd be willing to bet those can companies fire their smelters with natural gas.
That will sting.
But was it priced in?
again, back to the cc transcripts.

There's a lot to a theme Stoney.
Investing takes work.
Research.

Throw us some picks if you just want to fly by the seat of your pants.
Include the entry price.
That way I can return the nastiness when you're wrong.
IF... you're wrong.
I think it's a good theme... I really do.
But that said... have at it.

EDIT:

You do the homework yourself... and then bring it.

April 26 CCK CC

The company's recorded earnings in the quarter of $1.74 per share compared to earnings of $1.57 a share in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted earnings per share increased to $2.01 in the quarter compared to $1.83 in 2021. Net sales inthe quarter were up 23% from the prior year primarily due to the pass-through of higher raw material costs, and increased beverage can volumes. Segment income was $383 million in the quarter compared to $369 million in the prior year primarily due to improved profitability in North America n tinplate businesses and can-making equipment, including a net benefit of $30 million from lower cost inventory, offset by the timing of insurance recovery for the incremental costs related to the Bowling Green tornado and $8 million of unfavorable foreign exchange.

We have repurchased 400 million of Crown common stock to date from the $3 billion. Program that was that the board authorized in December. While Brazil remains soft, we do expect volumes to begin to recover in Q2. And throughout the year. And when combined with the stronger U.S. dollar and higher energy costs in Europe, we now project EBITDA to be 1 billion $970 million for the year for the full-year. Our estimate for adjusted earnings for the Second Quarter is in the range of $2 to $2.10 per share.

And for the full year, we remain in the guidance range of $8 to $8.20 per share. The full-year estimate continues to assume all losses from Bowling Green will be recovered from the timely collection of insurance proceeds for by year-end. It assumes we repurchased an additional $600 million of common stock in 2022, and a few on $1 billion for the year. We continue to expect free cash flow to be $400 million, with capital spending of $1 billion.

O-I Glass upgraded to Buy from Neutral at BofA 06:36 OI, BALL, CCK BofA analyst George Staphos upgraded O-I Glass (OI) to Buy from Neutral with a price target of $19, up from $15. O-I's forecasts seem to have "reasonable conservatism" and it appears somewhat insulated from macro events, despite risks from Europe, Staphos tells investors. In the same note, Staphos contends that a pullback in their shares and packaging's defensive nature suggest to him that investors should add capital to Ball (BALL) and Crown (CCK), on which he also has Buy ratings.
