Are you seriously using data from countries where there is a very strict lock-down to extrapolate this to the US and use the result to defend there should not be a lock-down?

As I said before it is simple dozu: without measures the hospitals will be flooded and lots of people will die that would have survived if the curve would have been flattened. If you want to accept having a heart attack or car accident and not being treated at that time that is fine, but most people choose not to accept this. Flu didn't and will not put countries in the same position so comparing it with the flu is incorrect.
notice I have already factored in the population density vs. the lock down strictness.

I have posted it a few times - human life is NOT priceless. insurance industry puts it at about $2m per, for the US.. so every 1% of GDP drag equates to about 100,000 death... say we end up with 5% drag that's 500,000 death already - on the GDP loss alone, not to mention the increased death from mental depression substance abuse and economic hardship in general.
not to mention when the US economy sneezes no pun the rest of the world goes on life support, the death counts will be huge from economic hardship in 3rd world countries.

Europe is about the same.... we share similar culture... the kind of lock down in China where brutal forces were used to lock people in or drag them to quarantine hospitals... that shit doesn't happen here...
