Or, if you're implying that the recent increases are somehow responsible for school shootings, that's equally stupid and you're part of the reason why no fact based solutions will ever be implemented. It's not the NRA to blame, nor is it inanimate objects.

Because, Mr. Slartibartfast, they're both political spending and while the NRA pittance supports those who are already pro-Second Amendment, the significantly larger amount of union money supports mostly politicians who are already for "gun control" -- for the simple reason that the bulk of their contributions go to Democrats.

semiautomatics. not firearms in general. As a kid I had a "white Powder Wonder" single shot, shot gun. I eventually inherited my dads Remington 12 Ga pump and a beautiful Winchester 22 long with a peep sight. That 22 had an hexagonal barrel, and was a really beautiful rifle. I no longer have either. May dad was a champion at skeet and an accomplished marksman in the field. He could pull down three greenheads out of a single flock, never hitting a hen. He was an amazing shot. I was the kid that went out in our leaky canvas dingy to set decoys at the break of dawn in bitterly cold weather in Colorado's San Louis valley , near Alamosa -- as far as i'm concerned , one of the coldest places on Earth. There is artesian water there that does not freeze despite very low temps. I recall very well the ice on the bottom of my pants and then sitting on a hand warmer and putting it out. Part of duck hunting is getting up in the middle of the night out of a sound sleep, eating pancakes at a local joint that caters to hunters, then heading for the blind when it is still dark in freezing weather. The best hunting is always in the worst weather when the ducks are flying low. I think deer hunters are sissies by comparison. I don't think I am right about the model number of my dads Remington. I thought it was a 33, that's what I remember, but I looked it up and it seems the 33 a rifle. It must have been a 31 not 33. He would have probably acquired it sometime in the late 40s or very early 1950s before I started hunting with him. A very nice gun, side ejecting , 4 rounds, which is plenty! I don't hunt any more , but have many great memories. There was also opportunities to hunt quail (mostly) and pheasant.
