Without getting too much into detail (for obvious reasons) can you touch briefly on their rationale for showing up at your door in the first place?

like one of the other guys said, it's not about whether you surf child porn, plan to bomb a plane or anything ,it's protecting your privacy rights. Abuse of power is easy and it can happen in small steps.

Would you agree to a law that says if you stole something at a grocery you will have your head chopped off? of course not even if you've never stolen anything in your life.

Yes, you are correct. It is about privacy rights. I also believe in the rights of children and the rights of innocent Americans being murdered by radical Muslims. It's a shame the government has to take such drastic measures to protect the innocent though. I guess it's just a matter of me not minding giving up a bit of privacy. But I certainly understand the concern.

That's the freedom we enjoy,we have to take the good with the bad. Otherwise, we'll be living in North Korea. Just look at Bush, he's gonna start allowing the spying of Americans pretty soon if we don't watch him but I'll leave that to another discussion for another time.
