Two issues here.. this ought to put a further scare into lots of people using Gmail...

I totally understand. However, the civil rights that the government are "abusing" are only affecting those who "abuse" children and radical muslims. I don't mind their rights being "abused"... that's all. If it escalates to something more, then I'll be concerned.

I did not compare Bush to the Nazi party. I compared your apathetic attitude to that of Martin Niemöller. I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) you practiced neither terrorism, nor pedophilia, just as Martin Niemöller described himself as neither a communist, nor a trade unionist.

??? Federal prosecuters want Google search records to see if internet pornography laws are being broken. To answer your question, it has everything to do with it. Again, they're just trying to protect children. No harm in that. NO INFO RELEASED IS PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE. I don't believe the everyday American realizes this, or we wouldn't have this panic.
